AFTERPARTY, THE (Apple TV+) - Sam Richardson and Zoë Chao are set to return alongside Tiffany Haddish for the show's second season, which will "revolve around a murder at a wedding." New additions include Elizabeth Perkins (Isabel), Zach Woods (Edgar), Paul Walter Hauser (Travis), Poppy Liu (Grace), Anna Konkle (Hannah), Jack Whitehall (Sebastian) and Vivian Wu (Vivian) in yet-to-be-detailed roles. (Deadline.com)
AMERICAN GIGOLO (Showtime) - Production on the film-turned-TV series has been suspended for four days as David Bar Katz takes over as showrunner from the recently fired David Hollander. (Deadline.com)
COMPANY YOU KEEP, THE (ABC) - Catherine Haena Kim will star opposite Milo Ventimiglia in the drama pilot as Emma, "the self-deprecating black sheep of an Asian American political dynasty. She never been afraid to carve her own path despite the objections of her impressive family. Sparks fly when she meets Charlie by chance in a bar, and the two wind up falling in love. But with Emma unaware that Charlie is a lifelong grifter, while he is unaware that she's a CIA officer on the tail of the very mobster who's blackmailing his family, they're on a collision course that could not only ruin their relationship but the lives of their two polar-opposite families." (Deadline.com)
CRUEL SUMMER (Freeform) - Lexi Underwood has joined the cast of the anthology's second season. She'll play Isabella as part of a retooling of the character, replacing the previously announced Eloise Payet. (Deadline.com)
DUNE: THE SISTERHOOD (HBO Max) - Johan Renck has signed on to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of the long-in-the-works TV spin-off of Denis Villenueve's films. (Deadline.com)
HISTORY OF A PLEASURE SEEKER (Hulu) - Olumide Olorunfemi and Bebe Bettencourt are the latest to be cast in the drama pilot. Olorunfemi will play Sisanda, "a Xhosa woman raised in South Africa's Eastern Cape, who is used to being the most admired young lady in her village. She did not imagine she'd spend her life cleaning other people's floors." And Bettencourt is Louisa, "who has her father's entrepreneurial instincts, and is exasperated by the constraints of her social position. A keen observer of human frailty, she's the strategist who maintains her sister's social dominance of their gilded world." (Deadline.com)
IDOL, THE (HBO) - Co-star Suzanna Son is not expected to return to the series as part of its creative overhaul. Said report indicates co-creator Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye "is understood to have been unhappy with the creative direction of the show, which is thought to have already filmed footage for around four or five episodes." Adding, "The crux of the issue appears to be that Tesfaye... felt the show was leaning too much into a "female perspective", according to sources, with co-star Lily Rose Depp's character rather than his own." (Deadline.com)
LAST OG, THE (TBS) - The Tracy Morgan-led comedy series won't be returning for a fifth season. Said report adds "the show's creatives were informed of the cabler's decision months ago, easily predating the news that broke this week about TBS (and TNT) easing out of the scripted originals business." (TVLine.com)
MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, THE (Amazon) - Alfie Fuller's Dinah Rutledge and Jason Ralph's Mike Carr are the latest to be named regulars for the show's final season. Additionally, Kelly Bishop will reprise her role of matchmaker Benedetta while Peter Friedman, Chloë Kerwin, Austin Basis, Josh Grisetti, Michael Cyril Creighton, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Lucas Kavner have been tapped for unspecified recurring roles. (Deadline.com)
PRETTY SMART (Netflix) - The multi-camera comedy series has been axed after one season. (TVLine.com)
WALKING DEAD DARYL & CAROL SERIES (AMC) - Melissa McBride is exiting the spin-off series, which will now focus solely on Norman Reedus's Daryl. "Melissa McBride has given life to one of the most interesting, real, human and popular characters in The Walking Dead Universe. Unfortunately, she is no longer able to participate in the previously announced spin-off focused on the Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier characters, which will be set and filmed in Europe this summer and premiere next year. Relocating to Europe became logistically untenable for Melissa at this time. We know fans will be disappointed by this news, but The Walking Dead Universe continues to grow and expand in interesting ways and we very much hope to see Carol again in the near future," the network said in a statement. (TVLine.com)
YOUNG SHELDON (CBS) - Emily Osment's Mandy McAllister will be promoted to regular for the series' sixth season. (Deadline.com)
