Peter Berg's Film 44 Sets Up First Look Deal At Netflix
Peter Berg's Film 44 has inked a first look deal with Netflix to produce and direct live action films and series
Berg directed Spenser Confidential, starring Mark Wahlberg, which became one of the most popular Netflix films with 85 million members choosing to watch the film in the first 4 weeks.
Last year it was announced that Berg will executive produce and direct all episodes of the limited series Painkiller, a new scripted drama about the origins of the opioid crisis.
Berg is currently developing The Colonel's Wife which he will write, direct and produce.

Peter Berg is a director, producer, actor, and founder of Film Forties (a production company specializing in creating scripted, non-scripted and branded entertainment).
Under his scripted entertainment banner, Film 44, Peter has written and directed feature films The Rundown (2003), Friday Night Lights (2004), The Kingdom (2007), Hancock (2008), Battleship (2012), Lone Survivor (2013), Deepwater Horizon (2016), Patriots Day (2016), Mile 22 (2018) and Spenser Confidential (2020). Berg also created the popular television adaptation of his feature film, Friday Night Lights. Additionally, Berg served as Executive Producer and Director of two acclaimed HBO series' The Leftovers and Ballers.

Berg is owner of Churchill Boxing Club (a boxing gym based in Santa Monica), as well as Churchill Management, a management company whose clients include World Championship fighter, Regis Prograis, Alex Saucedo, and Austin Ammo Williams.
Key upcoming projects for Berg include directing a feature documentary on Rihanna for Amazon and directing Netflix's Painkiller, a scripted drama about the origins of Purdue Pharma and the opioid epidemic.
