HBO Max Scheduled to Launch in 39 Territories Across Latin America in June 2021
The Platform Will Offer Latin American Audiences an Entirely New Experience via a New App, a Variety of Subscription Options, and Unparalleled Access to Global Fan-Favorite Programming, as well as Local Originals Unlike Any Other Service in Latin America
WarnerMedia's direct-to-consumer streaming platform HBO Max is scheduled to launch in late June in 39 territories1 across Latin America and the Caribbean, marking the first availability for the platform outside the U.S. With this entirely new streaming experience, audiences in the region will soon be able to enjoy a world-class content offering that includes the most beloved and fan-favorite programming from WarnerMedia's international family of brands like HBO, DC and Warner Bros. In addition, there will be a new kids experience featuring a deep catalog of content for children of all ages, and a captivating lineup of local original productions from home-grown talent.
"We are thrilled for the launch of HBO Max in Latin America and the Caribbean, which is the first step in bringing WarnerMedia's Direct-to-Consumer service to consumers outside of the U.S., and around the world," said Johannes Larcher, Head of HBO Max International. "By combining HBO with the very best of WarnerMedia's series and film catalog, as well as locally produced content from master-storytellers in Latin America, HBO Max will offer fans in the region an unforgettable and enriching entertainment experience."
At launch, existing HBO GO direct-billed customers, as well as those who are billed through eligible partners will get instant access to HBO Max. The existing HBO GO service in Latin America and the Caribbean will be phased out. The app will run on HBO Max's global tech stack, which has met great consumer demand in the U.S. with stability during the most popular of programming events.
Designed for everyone in the household, HBO Max will provide access to quality content drawn from 100 years of iconic and beloved WarnerMedia programming for people of all ages - ranging from preschoolers with collections from Cartoon Network and Looney Tunes Cartoons, to teens and adults from fan-favorite brands like HBO, Warner Bros, New Line, DC, CNN, TNT, TBS, truTV and Adult Swim. The platform's content lineup also includes a wide slate of local original titles, under the Max Originals brand, that are exclusive to the platform and will showcase local storytellers and talent bringing their authentic, meaningful, and native voices to our fans. Consumers will also be able to enjoy series and movies created by the best storytellers around the world, with popular titles acquired from local and internationally renowned partners.
HBO Max will be easily available through a variety of subscription options, and downloadable on a multitude of devices including smartphones, tablets and a wide range of smart entertainment platforms.
Over the next few months, HBO Max will offer consumers in Latin America and the Caribbean additional details on everything the platform has to offer with the unveiling of incredible new content, outstanding promotional offers and much more.
