ANATOMY OF A SCANDAL (Netflix) - Naomi Scott has scored a role on the seasonal anthology as Olivia Lytton, "a parliamentary researcher with a bright future who's facing a powerful adversary." Sienna Miller, Michelle Dockery and Rupert Friend also star. (THR.com)
BREN RENTS (FOX, New!) - Joe Mande is developing a domestic take on the U.K. single-camera comedy "Stath Lets Flats" at the network, about an incompetent rental agent who hopes to take over the family business from his retiring father. Original series creator Jamie Demetriou and Roughcut TV's Ash Atalla will also executive produce for FOX Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
BURN IN (CBS, New!) - Robert Doherty is developing a new drama at the Eye which "explores an America where the science fiction of AI and robotics has come true. Set in Washington, D.C., an FBI agent's world is altered when her next assignment is field-testing an advanced police robot." CBS Studios is behind the project, which is based on P.W. Singer and August Cole's novel of the same name, subtitled "A Novel of the Real Robotic Revolution." Rideback's Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore will executive produce alongside Doherty, Singer and Cole. (Deadline.com)
CHAPPELLE'S SHOW (Comedy Central) - HBO Max is the latest streaming service to remove the series at the request of Dave Chappelle. ViacomCBS previously pulled the series from Netflix last month. (Variety.com)
DAVE (FXX) - Meagan Holder will recur on the show's sophomore run as Tessa, "the executive at the label who's responsible for Dave. That means championing him, indulging him, and cajoling him - into doing exactly what she needs him to do." (Deadline.com)
HEELS (Starz) - David James Elliott and Joel Murray have landed recurring roles on the wrestling drama. Elliott will play Tom Spade, "a former wrestler and proprietor of the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL). He's the father of Jack (Stephen Amell) and Ace (Alexander Ludwig), husband to Carol, and a devoted entrepreneur who built a business that provided opportunities for countless aspiring wrestlers from all over the country." And Murray is Eddie Earl, "a local proprietor and sponsor to the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL), and one of the most successful and determined men in town." (Deadline.com)
MR. MAYOR (NBC) - Filming on the series will remain shut down through after the holidays "following the multiple positive COVID-19 tests in Zone 1." Production will now resume in January. (Deadline.com)
OLD MAN, THE (FX) - Navid Negahban and Pej Vahdat are both bound for the Jeff Bridges-led drama as the same character. Negahban will play Hamzad, "the most powerful tribal leader in his corner of Afghanistan, he hopes to use his leverage to seek revenge against Dan Chase (Bridges)"; while Vahdat is Young Hamzad, "an Afghan warlord who joins forces with a talented young CIA operative (Bill Heck as Young Chase) during the Soviet-Afghan war." PAM & TOMMY (Hulu, New!) - Lily James and Sebastian Stan are set to star as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in a new eight-episode limited series billed as a profile of "one of Hollywood's more iconic couples and the scandal that shook the industry when it comes to celebrity privacy." Writer Rob Siegel and director Craig Gillespie are spearheading the project with Seth Rogen also on board to play the man who stole their sex tape. Dylan Sellers, Evan Goldberg, Dave Franco, Sue Naegle and Megan Ellison will likewise executive produce for Point Grey Pictures, Limelight and Annapurna Television. (Deadline.com)
RIP (Paramount+, New!) - Katie Wech has set up a dramedy at the streamer which "tells the story of an aging widow in Florida whose children move her into assisted living for fear she is a danger to herself, only to realize later on, just how dangerous she is." CBS Studios is behind the project with I Can and I Will Productions' Gina Rodriguez and Tiana Feghali and Sutton Street Productions' Jennie Snyder Urman also executive producing. (Variety.com)
SECRET GUIDE TO CELESTIAL CREATURES (Disney+, New!) - Michael Golamco has sold an action-adventure drama to the streaming service which "centers on a Korean American family of legendary guardians who protect the supernatural community that lives among us in plain sight." Imminent Collision's Randall Park and Hieu Ho will also executive produce the hour for 20th Television. (Deadline.com)
THREE JOAQUINS, THE (ABC, New!) - Jordan Heimer and Manny Figueroa have booked a new drama at the Alphabet which "centers on a wealthy and powerful Latinx family who have their Pasadena world turned upside down when the living proof of their father's secret life arrives on their doorstep in the form of 16-year-old Tito, a kid who shares nothing with his family but their name." The District's Ruben Fleischer and David Bernad will also executive produce for ABC Signature. (Deadline.com)
WALKER (The CW) - Jeffrey Nordling is the latest actor set to drop by the newcomer as Stan Morrison, "a successful businessman and a networker - fast talking and all grins and finger guns, [and] a close friend of the Walker family." (TVInsider.com)
