BAKER AND THE BEAUTY, THE/FOR LIFE (ABC) - The Alphabet is holding off on decisions about said freshman dramas. The latter wrapped its run earlier this month, while the former concludes its freshman run on June 1. The network likely has until June 30 to mull their ultimate fates, the date most cast options traditionally expire on broadcast series. (Deadline.com)
BLESS THIS MESS/EMERGENCE/KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS/SCHOOLED/SINGLE PARENTS (ABC) - On the heels of today's 13 renewals by the network, ABC has opted to cancel the aforementioned series. "Bless This Mess," "Single Parents" and "Schooled" all recently wrapped their second seasons while "Emergence" and "Kids Say the Darndest Things" both aired their de facto finales back in January. (Deadline.com)
HERE SHE LIES (HBO Max, New!) - Yael Grobglas is attached to star in a single-camera comedy for the streaming service about "a pathological liar (Grobglas) with a tragic past who's struggling to free herself from the web of lies she can't stop weaving while slowly falling in love with someone who's equally damaged." Gracie Glassmeyer is penning the half-hour and well executive produce alongside Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein via the CBS Television Studios-based Sutton Street Productions. (Deadline.com)
THREE PINES (Amazon, New!) - Left Bank Pictures is looking to bring Louise Penny's bestselling Chief Inspector Gamache crime novels to the streaming service as a drama series. Writer Emilia di Girolamo and director Sam Donovan are spearheading the project, the title for which is "a reference to the fictional French Canadian village in which Chief Inspector Gamache operates. The French-speaking detective probes crimes in his Quebec community, digging up long-buried secrets and discovering his own ghosts. Among his quirks is speaking English in an English accent thanks to his Cambridge education." (Deadline.com)
WASHED UP (Peacock, New!) - Gracie Glassmeyer has booked a single-camera comedy at the company billed as a follow-up to Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" in which "fifteen years after giving up her tail to marry a prince at age 17, our princess is now miserable, unmotivated and in a loveless marriage. In other words, just a basic bitch human. But when her father suddenly dies, she suspects foul play and embarks on an epic adventure to save not only her underwater kingdom but all of humankind!" CBS Television Studios-based Sutton Street Productions is behind the half-hour with Jennie Snyder Urman and Joanna Klein likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
