MTV brings back "Club MTV" for the first time in nearly 30 years to raise proceeds for Save the Music Foundation's effort to bring music programs to students in underserved communities severely impacted by COVID-19
New York, NY (April 24, 2020) - MTV today announced actress, musician and "GMA3: Strahan, Sara, and Keke" host Keke Palmer will join DJ Derrick "D-Nice" Jones to co-host the live, one-night musical event, "Club MTV Presents #DanceTogether with D-Nice." In the special edition of "Club MTV," Palmer and D-Nice will bring an exclusive, on-air dance party directly to living rooms, connecting music fans and celebrities through on-screen pop-ins and virtual dance challenges. The one-hour special - held in support of The Save The Music Foundation - airs live Saturday, April 25th at 10PM ET/PT on MTV, simulcasts across VH1 and MTV2, and will be livestreamed on PlutoTV.
Special guest appearances include friends LL Cool J, Kelly Rowland, DJ Khaled, Common, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Donny Wahlberg, Fat Joe, Nicole Scherzinger, La La Anthony, Rita Ora, Pauly D, Steve Aoki, MJ Rodriguez, Liza Koshy, and "Club MTV" original host Downtown Julie Brown, with more surprise special guests to come.
For the first time in nearly 30 years, MTV is bringing back "Club MTV" with D-Nice at the helm, evolving his groundbreaking Club Quarantine dance parties exclusively for MTV. Palmer, a skilled singer and dancer in her own right, will join him in the expansion after recently lighting up social media with her "True Jackson, VP" dance challenge. Viewers can join the conversation from the comfort of their homes by commenting and posting online with the hashtag #DanceTogether.
As a part of the #AloneTogether campaign, fans will be encouraged to #DanceTogether and donate to benefit Save The Music. The music education nonprofit is working rapidly to ensure students in underserved communities severely impacted by this pandemic have access to remote music education.
