BEACH WATCH (NBC, New!) - Bridget Kyle and Vicky Luu have sold a single-camera comedy to the network about Hannah, "an aspiring police officer who flunks out of the police academy, joins the Beach Patrol and is partnered with the overbearing and brash Mel, who takes her job way too seriously. Both have to navigate an unlikely partnership while protecting the beach from crime and drunk teens." Spitzer Holding Company's Justin Spitzer will also executive produce for Universal Television. CURS_R (Quibi, New!) - Writer Simon Allen and director Toby Meakins have set up a drama series at the streaming service which "centers on the pursuit of an unclaimed $100,000 prize, for which a broke student decides to play an obscure, 1980s survival computer game." Anton and Stigma Films are behind the project, with Ridley Scott and Sebastien Raybaud also executive producing and Matthew James Wilkinson producing. (Variety.com)
LIFE AT THE BOTTOM (NBC, New!) - David Posamentier and Geoff Moore have set up a single-camera comedy at the network about "an aimless New Yorker who follows a girl to Antarctica, only to get dumped and abandoned there. He suddenly finding himself living amongst a bizarre assortment of passionate and eccentric scientists, soldiers and outcasts who have found their home at the bottom of the world." FanFare Productions' Jamie Tarses will also executive produce for Universal Television. (Deadline.com)
PERFECT COUPLE, THE (FOX) - Jenna Lamia has been tapped to pen the network's small screen take on Elin Hilderbrand's bestselling novel, which centers around wedding season on Nantucket. Hilderbrand and SideCar's Gail Berman are also executive producing for FOX Entertainment. (Deadline.com)
SNOWPIERCER (TNT) - Sakina Jaffrey and Damian Young will both recur on the show's second season as Mr. and Mrs. Headwood: "Two scientists operating in seclusion, the idiosyncratic Mr. and Mrs. Headwood care about only two things: their research and each other. They are devoted to pushing the bounds of scientific progress at the expense of humanity and ethics." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LUCIANO & MATARESE PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Mike Luciano and Phil Matarese have sold an animated comedy to the network about "two identical twin brothers with nothing in common except 100% matching DNA. It explores the ruthless competition, strained friendship and love between them and their families over a lifetime." SideCar's Gail Berman will also executive produce for FOX Entertainment. UNTITLED SANGEET PROJECT (Amazon, New!) - Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas have set up an unscripted series at the streaming service inspired by the Indian pre-wedding tradition of the sangeet, "a celebration of the love, marriage, and magic that ensues when friends and family come together through music and dance the evening before the wedding." Casting is underway on the project - from Amazon Studios, Alfred Street Industries, Purple Pebble Pictures and Image 32 - which they'll appear in and executive produce alongside Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Dan Volpe, Anjula Acharia, Phil McIntyre and Nina Anand Aujla.
