BECOMING (Disney+) - The streaming service has commissioned 10 new episodes of the LeBron James-produced series from ESPN Films which chronicles the inspiring journeys of world-class athletes. James himself was the focus of the pilot, which aired in October 2014 on Disney XD, with subsequent installments featuring Alex Morgan, Chris Paul, CC Sabathia, Henrik Lundqvist, Tim Howard and Ben Simmons. Executive producing are James, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson and Philip Byron from SpringHill Entertainment; Brent Montgomery and Joe Weinstock from Spoke Studios; and Jordana Hochman and Rebecca Bruno from ITV America. (Deadline.com)
DANTE'S INFERNO (Freeform, New!) - Ethan Reiff & Cyrus Voris are set to team with Nina Fiore & John Herrera for a potential drama billed as "a contemporary reimagining of Dante Alighieri's 14th century epic poem set against the demonic underworld of present-day Los Angeles." The quartet will executive produce the hour alongside Danielle Claman Gelber and Studio 71's Michael Schreiber and Dave Devries. "Dante's Inferno" follows Grace Dante, "who thought her life sucked. Between parenting her drug addict mother and her troubled brother, our 20-something hero has had to give up all her dreams. Then one day everything changes and her dreams start magically coming true, school, career, love... but the godfather of all this good fortune is the Devil himself. And to outwit him, she'll have to journey through Dante's Inferno." (Deadline.com)
DYNASTY (The CW) - Elaine Hendrix will be the latest actress to step into the role of Alexis Carrington in the series. She succeeds Nicollette Sheridan and Elizabeth Gilles to date on the reboot. (Deadline.com)
EMERGENCE (ABC) - The Alphabet's freshman drama will be capped at 13 episodes this season. (Deadline.com)
LUCIFER (Netflix) - The show's fifth and final season will be split into two eight-episode segments. (Deadline.com)
MADE FOR LOVE (HBO Max) - Noma Dumezweni will star alongside Ray Romano and Christin Milioti in the upcoming drama as Fiffany, "described as a lovestruck marine biologist who supplies the brains behind the Made For Love technology." (Deadline.com)
MAGIC MOTOR INN (A.K.A. UNTITLED FRESH OFF THE BOAT SPIN-OFF PROJECT) (ABC) - Vir Das and Preity G Zinta have been tapped to star in the proposed "Fresh Off the Boat" spin-off series, which "centers around an Indian family whose daughter attends school with Eddie." Das and Zinta would play the girl's parents, DC and Meena, respectively. Said characters will be introduced in an upcoming episode, but it will not be a traditional "backdoor pilot." Creator Rachna Fruchbom will instead pen a regular pilot should ABC opt to move forward in the project's development. Jake Kasdan and Melvin Mar are also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
NANCY DREW (The CW) - Miles Gaston Villanueva will recur on the newcomer as Owen: "Carefree and charming, Owen is a young real estate mogul, a business rival of Ryan Hudson (Riley Smith), and a member of a wealthy and respected local family himself. Sparks fly when Owen meets Nancy (Kennedy McMann) - but she soon learns he may not have an alibi for the night Tiffany Hudson was killed." (Deadline.com)
NICE ONE! (Quibi, New!) - Ron Funches will host a new game show for the streaming service which "features comedians attempting to cleverly out-compliment one another in a showdown of sweetness and consideration." Funches will also executive produce alongside Tom Brunelle, Brad Wollack, Evi Regev and Melanie Truhett for Free 90 Media. (Deadline.com)
PUNKY BREWSTER (Peacock) - Quinn Copeland, Lauren Donzis, Oliver De Los Santos and Noah Cottrell will round out the cast of the revival series pilot, in which Punky (Soleil Moon Frye) "is now a single mother of three trying to get her life back on track when she meets Izzy (Copeland), a young girl who reminds her a lot of her younger self." Donzis then will play Hannah, "Punky's fashion-forward teenage daughter, who often feels like she's the parent and Punky's the kid"; with De Los Santos as Daniel and Cottrell as Diego, Punky's adopted sons, who "even though they are brothers, they are complete opposites except when it comes to annoying their older sister, Hannah." (Deadline.com)
SUPERMAN & LOIS (The CW, New!) - Tyler Hoechlin's Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch's Lois Lane are set to be the focus of a potential new series on the netlet, which would revolve around "the world's most famous super hero and comic books' most famous journalist as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today's society." Todd Helbing is spearheading the project - a standalone pilot, not a planted spinoff from "Supergirl" - for the Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
