Disney+ Trial Goes Live Exclusively in The Netherlands
The Walt Disney Company's Direct-to-Consumer and International Segment Offers Free Early Trial of its Streaming Service to Dutch Audiences Ahead of November Launch
Free Trial Begins Today with Limited Selection of Library Content
Atrial version of Disney+ went live today in the Netherlands, giving Dutch consumers an exclusive opportunity to experience an early version of the upcoming subscription video on demand service free of charge until the official launch on November 12th. This offering features a limited portfolio of library content and is intended to serve as a technology trial.
Consumers in the Netherlands can immediately sign up for the Disney+ free trial and start streaming a limited selection of library content from The Walt Disney Company's Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic brands.
During the trial, subscribers can experience Disney+ product features and functionality: high-quality and commercial-free viewing, up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads, personalized recommendations, and the ability to set up to seven different profiles. Additionally, parents have the ability to set Kids Profiles that create an easy to-to-navigate, child-friendly interface to access age appropriate content.
The Disney+ trial is available on a selection of mobile and connected TV devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players, and smart TVs, with more to come at launch on November 12th. For a full list of supported devices during the trial visit here.
When Disney+ officially launches on November 12th, subscribers will enjoy an expanded content offering with unprecedented access to Disney's vast collection of films and television shows as well as never-before-seen original programming including feature-length films, series, documentaries, and short-form content made exclusively for the service at a low monthly cost of �6.99 per month or �69.99 per year. In its first year Disney+ will release more than 25 original series and 10 original films, documentaries, including "The Mandalorian," from executive producer and writer Jon Favreau, and "Lady and the Tramp," a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic - both streaming on November 12th.
Users will automatically transition into a paid subscription on November 12th and will have access to the full Disney+ offering, with the ability to cancel at any time.
