"AMERICA'S GOT TALENT" WINNER DARCI LYNNE FARMER LIGHTS UP THE HOLIDAYS WITH TV SPECIAL FEATURING HER FAMOUS PUPPETS AND NOTABLE GUESTS
"Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas" Debuts Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with Kristin Chenoweth, Toby Keith, Hunter Hayes, Pentatonix and Lindsey Stirling
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Nov. 26, 2018 - "America's Got Talent" season 12 winner and audience favorite Darci Lynne Farmer is celebrating the holidays Oklahoma style in her first original TV special, "Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas," airing Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. For viewers of all ages, the special will celebrate family togetherness at the holidays.
The one-hour telecast will feature musical performances and sketches from the talented young singer-ventriloquist, along with her lively puppets. There are also several feature performances from such notable guests as multi-award-winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth, singer-songwriter Toby Keith, country music superstar Hunter Hayes, three-time Grammy Award-winning and multi-platinum selling artist Pentatonix and two-time Billboard Music Award-winning electronic violinist Lindsey Stirling.
Pentatonix just kicked off their "Christmas Is Here!" tour, in support of their new album by the same name, which is available now. Stirling kicked off her national "Wanderland Holiday Tour" on Nov. 23 and the deluxe edition of her #1 best-selling holiday album, "Warmer in the Winter," is out now.
The special will also include surprise guest appearances from "America's Got Talent" judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Mel B.
Farmer will bring viewers home for the holidays to show off all of Oklahoma's beauty and warmth. The Emmy and Tony Award-winning Chenoweth, also an Oklahoma native, will perform "What a Wonderful World." In addition, Farmer will perform with Keith as the two pay visit to the OK Kids Korral, a home for children battling cancer.
Additional performances with Pentatonix and Stirling - as well as puppets Petunia, Oscar, Edna and Katie - will feature many familiar holiday tunes such as "Santa Baby," "Mary Did You Know" and "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town." Hayes will debut his new song, "This Christmas." Ricky Minor, who served as musical director on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" from 2010-14, will lead the house band on the special and Lonnie Chavis, from NBC's "This Is Us," stops by for a holiday gift exchange.
Farmer gained national attention when she won NBC's hit series "America's Got Talent" in 2017. She captivated audiences with her incredible performances alongside puppets Oscar and Petunia, earning the most votes ever for a winning act. Farmer's national tour has played in over 50 markets this past year to sell-out crowds, including at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Farmer also marked an important milestone with her stage debut at the Grand Ole Opry.
Farmer's first-ever holiday tour, "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree with Darci Lynne and Friends," gets under way Nov. 24. In addition, her 18-city "Fresh Out of the Box Tour" kicks off Feb. 15, 2019. Additional information and tickets for both shows are available now at www.darcilynne.com.
