EXCEPTIONAL, THE (NBC, New!) - Josh Meyers is set to star in a single-camera comedy at the Peacock about Justin, a resident of a Los Angeles condo building who "reluctantly agrees to join the board and, in his first meeting, stumbles into becoming its president. Now Justin has to leave his self-obsessed bubble and engage with his neighbors, finding himself knee deep not only in the issues of the building but also the personal problems of the condo's diverse residents - an endeavor that offers both hilarious challenges and surprising benefits." Meyers will also co-write the half-hour alongside Steven Cragg and Brian Bradle with the Universal Television-based Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions' Seth Meyers (Josh's real life brother) and Mike Shoemaker likewise executive producing. FRESH OFF THE BOAT (ABC) - Ming-Na Wen, Reggie Lee and Jimmy O. Yang are all bound for the show's fifth season for a November episode. Wen will play Elaine, "a Chinese-American woman with a smart sense of humor who's everything Jessica (Constance Wu) could dream of in a Chinese BFF." Lee then will portray Julius, "a Chinese-American man who genuinely loves steak, apple pie, the Dallas Cowboys and other all-American things"; with Yang as Horace, "Elaine and Julius's son, a talented, affable artist who skipped two grades and went to Harvard at age 16 on a full scholarship." GODFATHER OF HARLEM (Epix) - Newcomer Antoinette Crowe-Legacy has been cast in the Forest Whitaker-led drama as Elise, "Bumpy's (Whitaker) mixed-race, drug-addicted daughter. A lost soul who suffered for her father's neglect and will forever be his Achilles' heel. She has many gifts - an agile mind, a lithe beauty - and just as many defects - dishonesty and selfishness that grip her to the core." (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Beau Garrett's Jessica Preston will not return to the series for its upcoming second season. (TVLine.com)
POSE (FX) - Sandra Bernhard has been promoted to regular for the show's second season where she'll continue as "the brassy but caring Nurse Judy Katz, who works with HIV/AIDS patients." (Deadline.com)
TACOMA FD (truTV) - Hassie Harrison has joined the cast of the upcoming comedy set in a firehouse in the wettest city in America. She'll play Lucy, taking over for Kirby Bliss-Blanton from the original pilot. No reason for the change was given. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ALLAN HEINBERG MARVEL PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman) has scored a pilot production commitment from the Alphabet, Marvel Television and ABC Studios for a new series about female characters with superpowers. No specifics about which characters from the company's catalogue were given. Marvel Television's Jeph Loeb will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
