LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

DAN THE WEATHERMAN (FOX) - JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Jack Stanton have both signed onto the Thomas Lennon-led single-camera comedy pilot, about a fired weatherman who reluctantly ends up at the neighboring Spanish TV station. They'll take over from Ashley Williams and Dashiell McGaha-Schletter, as his wife Deborah and son Dan, Jr. Their scenes will be reshot this summer for potential midseason series consideration. Also starring are Natalie Ceballos (Irene), James Earl (Henry) and Daniel Stern (Don). (Variety.com)
DUNCANVILLE (A.K.A. UNTITLED POEHLER & SCULLYS PROJECT) (FOX) - Mike Scully has signed a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. The pact calls for him to develop new series projects for the studio, including the previously announced animated comedy series with Amy Poehler and his wife Julie Scully. "Thanks to Dana, Gary, Jonnie, Howard, and everyone at Fox for letting me hang around a few more years and continue pitching the same three jokes," said Scully. "I like working at 20th so much, I may put in my own hostile offer for the place."
HEATHERS (Paramount Network) - The cable channel has opted to permanently shelve the anthology series. Originally slated to premiere on March 7, the newcomer was pulled following the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida. While rescheduled for July 10, the decision was made on Friday not to air the series on Paramount Network or any other Viacom platform. "This is a high school show, we're blowing up the school, there are guns in the school, it's a satire and there are moments of teachers having guns. It's hitting on so many hot topics. This company can't be speaking out of both sides of its mouth, saying the youth movement is important for us and we've done all these wonderful things to support that and at the same time, we're putting on a show that we're not comfortable with," Keith Cox told the publication. The company plans to try and sell the 10-episode series, which had already opened a writers' room for a potential second season, to a non-Viacom outlet. (THR.com)
IMPOSTERS (Bravo) - The cable channel has canceled the series after two seasons. Next week's episode will serve as its de facto finale. (Deadline.com)
LA'S FINEST (NBC) - Canadian broadcaster Bell Media has ordered 13 episodes of the former NBC drama pilot. The news comes as Charter Communications nears a deal for the U.S. rights of the series from producer Sony Pictures TV. (BellMedia.com)
RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Executive producer Todd Harthan has likewise signed a new multi-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV. The pact covers his duties as showrunner as well as any future development. (Deadline.com)
ROOK, THE (Starz) - Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher have come onboard as showrunners of the upcoming drama, about a young woman pursued by shadowy paranormal adversaries while grappling with extraordinary abilities of her own. They'll replace Stephen Garrett and Stephenie Meyer, the latter of whom "is stepping away due to differences in creative visions of the project." (Deadline.com)
ROSEANNE (ABC) - The show's producers will reportedly be meeting with ABC on Monday to pitch a revamped version of the series without the titular star. Nevertheless, legal and rights issues need to be settled with Barr, who was a co-creator and executive producer on the series and has ownership/backend. (Deadline.com)
