HELLO NANCY (Showtime, New!) - Angela Workman (The Zookeeper's Wife) is set to pen a film adaptation of John Dickerson's book "On Her Trail, My Mother, Nancy Dickerson, TV News' First Woman Star" at the pay channel. The project "centers on pioneering journalist Nancy Dickerson, chronicling her trailblazing journey through the high-powered world of 1960s Washington, D.C., to become a prominent political journalist and eventually the first woman to anchor a TV news show." Stephen Colbert and Evelyn McGee Colbert are the executive producers with Workman as a co-executive producer and Dickerson as an associate producer. (Deadline.com)
HERE AND NOW (HBO) - The pay channel has canceled the series after one season. "After careful consideration we have decided not to move forward with a second season of 'Here and Now,'" HBO said in a statement. "We thank Alan for his dedication to innovative storytelling, and we look forward to his next endeavor." (Deadline.com)
INSIDE AMY SCHUMER (Comedy Central) - Co-creator Daniel Powell has signed a deal to develop and produce animated projects for the cable channel via his Irony Point production banner. (Deadline.com)
LESS THAN ZERO (Hulu, New!) - Bret Easton Ellis's famed novel-turned-film is being eyed for the small screen at the streaming service. Craig Wright is set to pen the script, which "follows a college freshman returning home for Christmas to spend time with his ex-girlfriend and his friend who struggles with addiction," for Fox 21 Television Studios. Ellis will also serve as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
ONCE UPON A TIME (ABC) - Executive producer/in-house director Steve Pearlman has signed a two-year overall deal with the show's producer ABC Studios. There he'll develop new series projects for the studio. (Deadline.com)
PURGE, THE (USA/Syfy) - William Baldwin is slated to recur on the film franchise-turned-drama pilot as Don Ryker, "the Managing Partner at Jane's (Amanda Warren) investment firm, and her boss. Handsome, confident, and powerful, Don leads his team with alacrity and intelligence. He appears to be a big Jane supporter but in fact may be standing in the way of her career advancement. Don also harbors a Purge night secret." (Deadline.com)
RESIDENT, THE (FOX) - Nkechi Carroll has signed a multi-year overall deal with Warner Bros. TV. The pact spells the end of her run at 20th Century Fox TV, where she most recently served as a co-executive producer on the aforementioned FOX drama. (Deadline.com)
WALKING DEAD, THE (AMC) - Co-star Lauren Cohan has closed a deal to appear in six episodes of the upcoming ninth season, which begins filming next week. The pact comes as ABC decides the fate of her drama pilot "Whiskey Cavalier" in the coming month. (Deadline.com)
