CAGNEY & LACEY (CBS) - Ving Rhames has signed onto the potential Sarah Drew/Michelle Hurd-led reboot as Morris Stark, "the LAPD Homicide Coordinator who is unflappable and a leader who inspires loyalty in everyone around him." (Deadline.com)
CAMPING (HBO) - Juliette Lewis, Janicza Bravo, Arturo Del Puerto, Brett Gelman and Bridget Everett are all bound for the upcoming Jennifer Garner/David Tennant-led comedy series. Lewis will play Jandice, "a woman of many talents. She's a DJ of sick beats, a reiki healer and a certified public accountant. Her life may seem ideal - bouncing from man to man to woman to man - but the reality is far less ideal." Bravo then is set as Nina-Joy, "the friend you go to for everything: best massage, best jeans, best oatmeal"; with Del Puerto as Miguel, "who is smack dab in the middle of a midlife crisis, recently separated"; Gelman as George, "who is loyal, goofy and infinitely game"; and Everett as Harry, "the tough-talking, nature-loving queen of the campsite, she came out as a lesbian at age 3." (Deadline.com)
CODE, THE (CBS) - Mira Sorvino has signed on to star in the drama pilot, in which the military's brightest minds take on our country's toughest challenges - inside the courtroom and out - where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator - and a Marine. She's on board to play Eisa Turnbull, "the Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps' Judge Advocate Division. Eisa demands excellence of herself and her staff, inspiring fierce loyalty from the attorneys who serve under her command. One of the highest-ranking female officers in the Corps, Eisa is also the mother of two sons who are serving overseas." (Deadline.com)
DADDY ISSUES (FOX) - Mike O'Gorman will round out the cast of the single-camera comedy pilot, about single, 30-something Andi (Erin Foster), who refuses to settle down, and her friendship with her playboy dad (Don Johnson). He'll play Jason, "the hot husband of Andi's sister Emma (Christine Woods). He's charming, funny, a loving husband and a great father. He is the kind of guy that can seamlessly move into any situation, whether it be a bar with his buddies or a dance recital with his daughter." (Deadline.com)
DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (The CW) - Matt Ryan, who's currently recurring on the series, is set to become a series regular for its expected fourth season. He'll continue on as John Constantine, a role which he originated on the short-lived NBC series. (Deadline.com)
DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (ABC) - Nora Zehetner is set to recur on the current season as Valeria Poriskova: "Intelligent, attractive and formidable, Valeria is officially a "cultural attaché" at Russia's Washington, D.C. embassy. However, her real job is spycraft: running Russian intelligence agents on U.S. soil." (Deadline.com)
GRAND HOTEL (ABC) - Justina Adorno has been tapped for the ensemble drama pilot, set against the backdrop of a Miami Beach hotel, centering around the family who owns the business, the staff who run it, and the explosive secrets they hide under the perfect exterior. She'll play Yoli, "Carolina's (Feliz Ramirez) twin sister." (Deadline.com)
MIXTAPE (FOX) - Jenna Dewan Tatum is slated to star in the pilot, a romantic musical drama that looks at a disparate group of interconnected people in contemporary Los Angeles through the lens of the music that defines who they are. She's set to play Joanna Karam, "a young professional with everything always under control. She's the most rational person she knows. And yet she's a little guarded, as if always prepared for the worst." (Deadline.com)
NIGHTFLYERS (Syfy) - Daniel Cerone has bowed out as showrunner of the upcoming space drama over creative differences. Jeff Buhler, who penned the pilot script, will assume said duties going forward. (THR.com)
PLAYING DEAD (The CW) - Curran Walters has scored a role on the drama pilot, a dysfunctional family dramedy about Joe Rice (Tyler Ritter), a mortician and his son whose lives are turned upside down when the woman who abandoned them 15 years ago returns and asks them to fake her death. He's set as said son, Lucas, "a handsome, quick, confident but not cocky high school teen. An enterprising Ferris Bueller type for whom the rules don't seem to apply, he is always 10 steps ahead of everyone else and 20 steps ahead of his dad." (Deadline.com)
SPENCER (The CW) - Karimah Westbrook has snagged a role on the drama pilot, about Spencer Paysinger (yet to be cast), a rising high school football player from South Central L.A. who is recruited to play for Beverly Hills High. She'll play Grace James, "Spencer's warm, loving and strong single mother who works as a courthouse clerk to pay the bills. Very much aware of Spencer's gifts as both an athlete and student, she is entirely supportive of his choice to transfer to Beverly Hills High." (Deadline.com)
STRANGER THINGS (Netflix) - Co-stars Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Winona Ryder and David Harbour have all reportedly "reached or are finalizing agreements that will see their pay increase significantly" for the upcoming third season.
