BLESS THIS MESS (FOX) - Dax Shepard is set to star opposite Lake Bell in the single-camera comedy pilot, about Rio (Bell) and Mike (Shepard), a newlywed couple who give up their drab and unfulfilling lives in NYC and move to Nebraska to live a simpler life. It doesn't work out like they planned. Shepard will also receive an executive produce credit on the project, alongside Bell, Katherine Pope and Liz Meriwether. (Deadline.com)
BOBBY BROWN STORY, THE (BET) - Mekhi Phifer, Lil Rel Howery, T.K. Carter, Laz Alonso, Lance Gross, Alyssa Goss and Sandi McCree have all been cast in the network's two-part sequel to "The New Edition Story." Woody McClain returns as the titular R&B singer. Phifer plays Tommy Brown, Bobby's brother; with Howery as Brian Irvine, Bobby's business manager; Carter as Herbert "Pops" Brown, Bobby's father; Alonso as Louil Silas Jr., "an MCA producer-executive who helps make Bobby a solo star"; Gross as Steven Sealy, "a childhood friend of Bobby's who is killed in a gunfight after hanging with him at a hometown bar"; Goss as Bobby's current wife, Alicia Etheridge; and McCree returning as Bobby's mother Carole Brown. Production is underway in Atlanta with Kiel Adrian Scott directing from a script by Abdul Williams for a September premiere. (Deadline.com)
BOYS, THE (Amazon) - Jack Quaid (The Hunger Games) is set to topline the comic-book-turned-drama series as Hughie: "After the death of his girlfriend by fast-moving Superhero A-Train (Jessie Usher), Hughie is approached by a mysterious "government agent" named Billy Butcher, who drags Hughie into a covert war against a group of Superheroes who are not what everyone thinks they are." ENEMY WITHIN, THE (NBC) - Cassandra Freeman has been tapped for Jennifer Carpenter/Morris Chestnut-led drama pilot as Jaqueline Pettigrew: "From a police family in Baltimore, Pettigrew is the newest member of Keaton's FBI team and is very good at her job." (Deadline.com)
FBI (CBS) - Connie Nielsen has booked a role on the upcoming Dick Wolf-produced drama as Special Agent in Charge Ellen Toy: "A deeply respected boss, Ellen is elegant, cultured, and operates under massive pressure - political, public, and self-imposed. She deals by being highly organized and disarmingly direct. She'll do anything for her agents who earn it, and is impossible to intimidate." (Deadline.com)
GET CHRISTIE LOVE (ABC) - Khandi Alexander is the latest addition to the Kylie Bunbury-led drama pilot as Sarah Campion, "a veteran intelligence agent and head of Christie's unit. She was a badass back in her day and can summon those skills again when need be." (Deadline.com)
GOOD OMENS (Amazon) - Nick Offerman is the latest bound for the six-part humorous fantasy drama as "the U.S. Ambassador and father of the child Warlock." (Deadline.com)
MAIN JUSTICE (CBS) - Peter Gallagher has been cast in the Bokeem Woodbine-led drama pilot, inspired by the life of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. He'll play President Philip Whitbeck, "who feels good about newly sworn-in attorney general and is happy to finally have a real cop in the position. However, when Miles makes some unorthodox decisions that have far-reaching effects on the president's domestic and international agendas, he begins to have some reservations about his pick for AG." MILLION LITTLE THINGS, A (ABC) - Stephanie Szostak will round out the cast of the ensemble drama pilot as Delilah, "who pushes through after her husband's death for the sake of her children." James Roday, Romany Malco, David Giuntoli, Allison Miller, Christina Ochoa, Anne Son and Christina Moses also star. Additionally, James Griffiths has been confirmed as directing the project. (Deadline.com)
RED LINE (CBS) - Noah Wyle has been tapped to star in the drama pilot, which explores what happens after a white cop in Chicago (Noel Fisher) mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor. He'll play Daniel Calder, "a dedicated high school teacher mourning the loss of his innocent African-American husband who was killed by the officer. Daniel is now a single parent to his adopted daughter, Jira (Aliyah Royale)." (Deadline.com)
ROSWELL (The CW) - Michael Trevino is the latest bound for the reboot drama pilot as Kyle Valenti, "the popular son of the town sheriff who questions his carefree outlook on life after learning the terrifying truth of his family's legacy." (Deadline.com)
SALVAGE (ABC) - Emily Althaus has scored a role on the drama pilot as Missy Hill, "Jimmy's (Toby Kebbell) little sister who loves her brother to death and always meant to leave their town of Bel Grove, but has been too busy making poor decisions to get around to it." (Deadline.com)
STATION 19 (ABC) - Marla Gibbs is set to recur on the newcomer in a yet-to-be-revealed role. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED ORIGINALS SPIN-OFF PROJECT (The CW) - Matt Davis, Danielle Rose Russell, Aria Shahghasemi, Quincy Fouse, Jenny Boyd and Kaylee Bryant have all signed onto the potential spin-off series, which reportedly revolve around the younger generation of Originals. Davis and Russell will reprise their roles of Alaric Saltzman from "The Vampire Diaries" and Hope Mikaelson from "The Originals," respectively, with Shahghasemi likewise continuing on as Landon, who will debut during the latter's upcoming final season. Fouse, Boyd and Bryant will play new characters: M.G., "a popular, kick-ass and brilliant nerd"; Christina, "a bubbly and cheerful girl with a penchant for gossip and mischief"; and Bethanne, "who is quietly ambitious and highly intelligent." It's understood a short presentation is being assembled for the project for consideration as a series next season. Julie Plec is executive producing. (Deadline.com)
VERIFIED WITH DAVID SPADE (Comedy Central, New!) - David Spade has scored a pilot order from the cable channel for a weekly comedy series which "will aim to skewer pop culture and news through the lens of social media, set in front of a studio audience. The project will include in-studio bits, panel discussions and field pieces." Free90's Brad Wollack and Tom Brunelle and Brillstein Entertainment's Alex Murray and Marc Gurvitz will executive produce alongside Spade. (Deadline.com)
