BIG LITTLE LIES (HBO) - The pay channel is reportedly targeting to begin production this spring on a second season of the series however Jean-Marc Vallée "will be stepping away from the director's chair [due] to scheduling conflicts." (TVLine.com)
BRAVE, THE (NBC) - James Tupper is set to visit his real-life wife Anne Heche on the freshman drama as Alex Hoffman, "a brilliant CIA field officer who in the past formed a partnership of opportunity with Heche's Patricia as they rose through the ranks together. The two reconnect after years apart when Hoffman finds himself at the center of a crisis that threatens global security." (TVLine.com)
DEADLY CLASS (Syfy) - Casting has been locked in for the comic-book-turned-drama pilot: Benedict Wong is set as Master Lin, "the headmaster of the School for the Deadly Arts. Deadly and feared"; with Benjamin Wadsworth as Marcus, "an awkward outcast full of social anxiety struggling to find his place in the cold and brutal world of high school"; Lana Condor as Saya, "mysterious and guarded with a deadly reputation"; Maria Gabriela de Faria as Maria, "one minute Maria's an extrovert and an exhibitionist, a tornado of ever changing emotions-fierce, charming, beautiful and oozing femininity - the next she's murderous, feral, and crippled by rage"; Luke Tennie as Willie, "a hardened gangster, but underneath is an honest and thoughtful person who would rather be reading comic books and listening to music than engaging in blood work"; Liam James as Billy, "skater punk, son of a corrupt cop and now a misfit at the school"; Michel Duval as Chico, "scary, muscular, son of a cartel drug lord"; Henry Rollins as Jürgen Denke; Taylor Hickson as Petra; Siobhan Williams as Brandy; Jack Gillett as Viktor; Sean Depner as Lex; and Ryan Robbins as Rory. DESIGNATED SURVIVOR (ABC) - Kim Raver will drop by the Kiefer Sutherland-led drama as Andrea Frost, "a wunderkind engineer and entrepreneur whose company, Apache Aerospace, is at the apex of high-tech industry. Frost is a woman with unshrinking confidence and vision - an Elon Musk-type with a philosophy about business and government that is sure to challenge the old ways that she's made a career of breaking through." FLINCH (Netflix, New!) - Stellify Media has set up a "Jackass-meets-Wipeout-style" game show at the streaming service in which "a number of brave and crazy contestants attempt to withstand pain and discomfort in a series of hilarious games designed to make them scared. Three celebrity hosts bet on which contestant can withstand the most pain, and the losing host faces the same fate in their very own game of chicken." No other auspices were given. (Deadline.com)
GOOD COP, THE (Netflix) - Monica Barbaro has been cast in the Tony Danza/Josh Groban-led drama as Cara Vasquez: "Street smart and self-assured, she is the newest detective on the All-City Homicide Task Force. She believes in getting the job done, even if that means bending the rules, which always gets a rise out of her earnest, by-the-book partner, TJ Caruso." (Deadline.com)
GOOD DOCTOR, THE (ABC) - Eric Winter will recur on the freshman hit as Matt Coyle, "a young and charming doctor, who initially impresses members of the hospital's surgical team, but whose true character puts one of the team members in an awkward position at work." (Deadline.com)
GOOD GIRLS REVOLT (Amazon) - Sony Pictures Television is reportedly set to make the rounds with a reboot of the short-lived period drama, which was canceled by Amazon last year. (Deadline.com)
MAD MEN (AMC) - Former writer Kater Gordon has accused series creator Matthew Weiner of sexual harassment, detailing an incident in 2008. (TheInformation.com)
NIGHT OF TOO MANY STARS (HBO) - "Louis C.K. will no longer be participating in the Night of Too Many Stars: America Unites for Autism Programs, which will be presented live on HBO on November 18," the network said in a statement following today's allegations of five women who claimed to have been sexually harassed by the comedian. "In addition, HBO is removing Louis C.K.'s past projects from its On Demand services." (Deadline.com)
SUPERGIRL (The CW) - Laurie Metcalf has been cast as "the estranged mother of Jeremy Jordan's Winn Schott." She'll appear in the 15th episode this season. (TVLine.com)
UMBRELLA ACADEMY, THE (Netflix) - Ellen Page is the first to be cast in the comic book-turned-drama series. She'll play Vanya, "the black sheep of her dysfunctional family. She's the only one of Reginald Hargreeves' adopted children with no supernatural abilities. A meek and insecure wallflower, Vanya struggles to find her place in the world." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL PROJECT (Disney OTT, New!) - Walt Disney Company chairman and CEO Bob Iger revealed the Disney Channel staple "High School Musical" is being developed as a potential series for its digital streaming service. No specifics however were given. In March 2016, Disney Channel announced plans for a fourth installment of the telefilm franchise however no subsequent development has been indicated. (THR.com)
UNTITLED MONSTERS, INC. PROJECT (Disney OTT, New!) - Walt Disney Company chairman and CEO Bob Iger indicated a new TV series based on the Pixar films is in the works for its digital streaming service, which is expected to roll out in 2019. No other specifics were given. (THR.com)
UNTITLED STAR WARS LIVE-ACTION PROJECT (Disney OTT, New!) - Walt Disney Company chairman and CEO Bob Iger confirmed today that a live-action series is being developed for its upcoming digital streaming service, due to launch in 2019. No other details however were given. The news would mark the first live-action "Star Wars" project for TV since "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor" in 1985. (THR.com)
WILL & GRACE (NBC) - Dan Bucatinsky, Matthew Letscher, Andy Favreau and Barry Bostwick are all bound for an upcoming installment of the series. Bucatinsky will reprise his role of Neil. (Deadline.com)
