BIG LAW (ABC, New!) - David Marshall Grant ("Code Black") has sold a new drama to the Alphabet billed as "a modern look at a large LA law firm and what it takes to survive and thrive in our work obsessed society. The line between our lawyers' professional and personal lives are increasingly blurred and moral ambiguity is a job requirement." The project, which is based on Mónica Agudelo Tenorio and Felipe Agudelo's Colombian format "La ley del corazón" from RCN, will also be executive produced by Calamity Jane's Ellen Pompeo and Laura Holstein for ABC Studios. BLACK LIGHTNING (The CW) - Edwina Findley is the latest set to recur on the midseason drama as Tori, "the beautiful and cunning younger sister to Tobias Whale (Marvin "Krondon" Jones III). Tori's charming nature is just a facade as she can be just as deadly as Tobias, an exciting threat to the people of Freeland." (Deadline.com)
BLUE CRUSH (NBC) - The Peacock is taking another stab at bringing the 2002 feature film - about "a surfer [in the wake of a tragic accident, who] works to revive her career and bring pride to a local community threatened by commercialism and dangerous surf politics" - to the small screen. Hannah Schneider will pen the script, taking over from screenwriter Lizzy Weiss, who spearheading the original sale in 2016. Imagine Television's Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo will also executive produce for Universal Television. (THR.com)
CARNIVAL ROW (Amazon) - Alice Krige and Jared Harris are the latest bound for the fantasy drama as Haruspex, "a witch-like clairvoyant who warns that a great reckoning is upon the city"; and Absalom Breakspear, "the imperious and secretive Chancellor of the Burgue, besieged by political enemies from all sides," respectively. LIKE FAMILY (NBC, New!) - Suzanne Martin ("Crowded") is back in business with the Peacock for a new comedy about "two twentysomething friends who met as foster children and now try to figure out what they want from life and each other in New York City." Universal Television-based Hazy Mills is behind the half-hour with the company's Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
ROSWELL (The CW, New!) - Carina Adly MacKenzie ("The Originals") is spearheading an immigration-themed reboot for the former UPN/The WB staple about "after reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, NM, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He's an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance." Amblin Television's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank; Bender Brown Productions' Kevin Kelly Brown; and Warner Bros. Television are all behind the hour, which is based on the "Roswell High" book series by Melinda Metz. (Deadline.com)
SNEAKY PETE (Amazon) - Sara Tomko, Chris Ashworth and Justine Lupe are all bound for the show's sophomore run as Suzanne, "the operations manager for a casino on tribal land"; Miro, "Luka's (John Ales) imposing, tall, intimidating henchman"; and Hannah, "Colin's girlfriend," respectively. TAPPED (Freeform, New!) - Thomas Brandon has set up a potential drama at the cable channel about "three grad students who create a hookup app called Tapped that goes viral and turns the students into overnight millionaires, but also unleashes unwitting dangers into the world that the creators must try to understand and control." The project is based on the unpublished memoir by Andrew Shaffer with Long Lake Media's I. Marlene King and Citizen Media's Paul Wesley and Bob Levy executive producing for Warner Horizon Scripted Television. Brandon will serve as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNSUB (CBS, New!) - Liz Friedman ("Conviction") has sold a potential drama to the Eye based on Meg Gardiner's novel about "a female detective on the trail of an infamous serial killer - inspired by the still-unsolved Zodiac case - who breaks his silence and begins killing again. The detective, who grew up watching her father destroy himself and his family as he chased the killer, now finds herself confronting the same monster her father never caught." CBS Television Studios is behind the hour with Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman of Timberman-Beverly Productions and Shane Salerno of The Story Factory likewise executive producing. Gardiner will receive a producing credit. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED JOHNSON & WINDSOR PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Casey Johnson and David Windsor ("The Real O'Neals") are re-teaming with the Alphabet for a new single-camera comedy about "a woman at her tipping point who has her mad as hell moment and discovers something extraordinary about herself." Said effort is set up at ABC Studios, home to their overall deal. (Deadline.com)
VICTORY LANE (FOX, New!) - Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) has set up a potential drama at the network "set in the world of auto racing. It follows the sport's biggest family rivalry. The real drama is outside the arena as two star drivers fall in love, despite their battle on the track." Turner and Jennifer Klein will executive produce via their 20th Century Fox Television-based Vendetta Productions. A penalty is also attached. (Deadline.com)
X-FILES, THE (FOX) - Robert Patrick is reportedly being eyed for a return trip to the series as FBI Agent John Doggett. (TVLine.com)
