A&R (NBC, New!) - Josh Lieb ("The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon") has set up a potential comedy at the Peacock about "a young, hip music label, along with its young, hip boss, is thrown into disarray when the owner brings back a hard-partying, middle-aged "mastodon" from the industry's past to help guide them into the future." Syco Television's Simon Cowell will also executive produce the Universal Television-based project with Scott Bernstein and Peter Samson. (Variety.com)
ADAM & EVA (FOX, New!) - Steven Levenson ("Masters of Sex") has sold a new drama to the network and 20th Century Fox Television about "two unique souls in New York City drawn together by fate. Both struggle with feelings of isolation heightened by living in a city with 8.5 million people." The project is based on Robert Alberdingk Thijm and Norbert ter Hall's Dutch series "A'dam - E.V.A." with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel of Marc Platt Productions; and Scripted World's Alon Aranya and Rob Golenberg also executive producing alongside both sets of creators. EASY (Netflix) - Aubrey Plaza, Kate Berlant, Joe Lo Truglio, Michaela Watkins, Judy Greer and Danielle Macdonald are all bound for the second season of Joe Swanberg's comedy anthology, due on December 1. They'll join returning faces Kate Micucci, Jane Adams, Zazie Beetz, Michael Chernus, Kiersey Clemons, Evan Jonigkeit, Elizabeth Reaser, Jacqueline Toboni, Dave Franco, Aya Cash and Marc Maron. STRANGE CONDITIONS (FOX, New!) - Wes Jones ("Billions") has scored a put pilot commitment from the network for a new drama "set 5 minutes in the future and takes place at the New York Institute of Experimental Medicine - on the bleeding edge of biotechnology and a little beyond. Each an expert their own field (medicine, bio-ethics, law, and psychology) with healthy egos - our team clashes in their battle to cure the incurable and expand the boundaries of nature. But just because they can do something, does that mean they should?" 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour with Danny Strong and Stacey Greenberg of Danny Strong Productions; John Requa, Glenn Ficarra and Charlie Gogolak of Zaftig Films; and Henry Finder also executive producing. TEACHERS (TV Land) - Jeff Ross and Andrew Daly will both drop by the show's upcoming fall run as "a fire marshal who comes to Fillmore Elementary School after asbestos is found in Mrs. Adler's (Kathryn Renée Thomas) trailer" and "a police officer visiting the school for an anti-drug presentation but ends up in an "opposites attract" scenario with Ms. Feldman (Cate Freedman)." UNTITLED MAYA DUNBAR PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Actress Maya Dunbar has sold a new drama to the Peacock about "the country's most successful African American civil rights attorney and his family-run law firm. When tragedy strikes they're forced to dive into their own dark pasts, walking the murky line between the law and self-preservation to save their future and the legacy of their powerful family name." One Media's Demetrius Spencer and Erika Conner and Rosey TV's Michael Rosenberg will executive produce for Universal Television with Dunbar as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED TRAE CROWDER PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Comedian Trae Crowder is set to star in a potential single-camera comedy for the Alphabet which "follows liberal-minded redneck Crowder, who has just moved back to his small Tennessee hometown for a new job, where he struggles to balance the needs of his wife and son with his chaotic family and complicated Southern heritage." Crowder and John Enbom will pen the half-hour with Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge and Danielle Stokdyk likewise executive producing via their Warner Bros. Television-based Spondoolie Productions. Said group was behind Crowder's previous effort at FOX last season, which featured a different premise. (Deadline.com)
