FUTURE MAN (Hulu) - Robert Craighead has been tapped for an arc on the new comedy as Vincent Skarsgaard, "who, as a rookie cop, watched his partner die, and has thought of nothing else in the 49 years since. He's a cop with a vendetta and gimpy knees." He'll presumably replace Patrick Carlyle, who was cast in said role earlier this month. (Deadline.com)
HIT THE ROAD (Audience Network, New!) - Jason Alexander is attached to star in a new 10-episode comedy for the channel about a "chaotically dysfunctional family of would-be rock/pop stars [as they] traverse the country in a cramped tour bus sacrificing privacy, comfort and dignity while in search of fame and fortune." Alexander, who also co-wrote the pilot alongside Peter Tilden and Dean Craig, will play patriarch Ken Swallow in the project, from Primary Wave Entertainment and Fabrik Entertainment. Christopher Long, Bart Peters, David Guillod, Mark Burg, Melissa Aouate and Henrik Bastin will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
RIVERDALE (The CW) - Mark Consuelos will join the cast in season two as Veronica's dad Hiram Lodge, "a ruthless, handsome, charismatic businessman who is coming back to Riverdale after weathering a financial scandal that almost destroyed him. He is there to reconnect with his wife Hermione and, especially, his daughter Veronica, who is the apple of his eye." Said casting is in second position to FOX's "Pitch." (TVLine.com)
WACO (Paramount) - Camryn Manheim, Eric Lange, Annika Marks, Stephen Culp and Sarah Minnich are all bound for the event series. Manheim will play Balenda Thibodeau, "the mother of David Thibodeau (Rory Culkin), one of Koresh's close followers within the compound"; with Lange as "local radio shock jock Ron Engelman"; Marks as Kathy Schroder, "one of Koresh's (Taylor Kitsch) loyal followers"; Culp as FBI agent Jeff Jamar, "who served as the siege commander during Waco"; and Minnich as Sharon Wheeler, "spokeswoman for the ATF." WAY I AM, THE (Hulu, New!) - Ingrid Michaelson is set to topline a potential single-camera comedy at the streaming service loosely based on her own life, "who's at the height of her career (even if everyone thinks she's Lisa Loeb)." Liz Tigelaar is penning the half-hour from a story from the duo with Lynn Grossman likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
YOUNGER (TV Land) - Aasif Mandvi will recur on the upcoming season as Jay Mallick, "an attractive fortysomething editor with a great sense of humor whom Liza meets at a conference and who approaches her to run her own millennial-focused imprint." (Deadline.com)
