TBS's CONAN Teams Up with AT&T to Launch "Catch Coco" Mobile App in Celebration of Week of Shows in New York
Interactive Mobile Game Rewards Fans with Extended Access to CONAN in NYC
To celebrate TBS's late-night show CONAN's return to New York City, Team Coco today launched an ultimate gaming experience to bring fans unprecedented access to Conan O'Brien in the Big Apple: Catch Coco. Created with help from AT&T, the new mobile game leverages the explosive popularity of adventure gaming and augmented reality with quintessential New York themes to spotlight the show's second trip to the city. Taped at the legendary Apollo Theater, CONAN's week of shows in New York starts tonight at 11 p.m. (ET/PT) on TBS, a division of Turner.
Catch Coco provides local New Yorkers the chance to catch CONAN collectibles at 15 iconic landmarks throughout New York City. Each collectible is differentiated by a unique deli sandwich, which also dictates the name of the character, such as "Tuna Melt Conan." As fans roam the city in search of the collectibles, the game's interactive map will help locate the landmarks, then change to a live camera view once a player is in close proximity. Using O'Brien's signature Eisenhower mug and microphone, fans will be able to catch CONAN collectibles, add them to their collection books and share the victory on social media.
To complement the New York experience, fans at home will be able to join the search for CONAN collectibles without leaving their living rooms. Once a day starting today, participating users will receive a push notification to signal that a new collectible is available. The app will automatically open to a live camera view, enabling users to find and catch the collectibles at home. The next character will be available 24 hours later.
The first fan to catch all 15 CONAN collectibles in New York City will win the grand prize: tickets to one of the show tapings in New York and the opportunity to meet Conan O'Brien. The next nine fans to succeed will also receive tickets to a show taping. Users who catch all collectibles at home within 30 days will be entered into a sweepstakes for the chance to win a CONAN swag bag.
As the exclusive sponsor of Catch Coco, AT&T will have brand exposure within the mobile game, as well as across the digital landing page at teamcoco.com/catchcoco. Custom spots promoting the app are currently airing on TBS, and CONAN is featuring in-show brand integrations teasing to the Catch Coco experience. To engage AT&T's target audience on social media, Turner's optimization capability Launchpad will distribute the in-show integrations and promotions for the app across Team Coco's social handles.
To participate in the quest for CONAN collectibles, download the Catch Coco app on iOS or Android today.
