BURGLAR'S GUIDE TO THE CITY, A (CBS, New!) - Paul Grellong ("Scorpion") has scored a put pilot commitment from the Eye for a new drama based on the book by Geoff Manaugh about "a team of modern-day Robin Hoods, led by a brilliant architect with a troubled past. They use their unique skills to gain access to any stronghold in order to steal from rich criminals and give to those who have been wronged by a corrupt system." CBS Television Studios-based Secret Hideout is behind the hour with the company's Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin and Perfect Storm Entertainment's Justin Lin and Danielle Woodrow executive producing alongside Grellong. Aaron Baiers will also serve as a lead producer with Manaugh as a consulting producer and Manage-ment's Nate Miller and Dan Halsted receiving producing credits. (Deadline.com)
FRESH OFF THE BOAT (ABC) - Ray Wise's Marvin - "the Huang family's next-door neighbor, husband to Jessica's (Constance Wu) best friend (and business partner), Honey (Chelsey Crisp), and buddy to Louis (Randall Park)" - has been promoted to series regular for the show's third season. (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Bridget Regan ("Jane the Virgin") will guest on the series in an unspecified role. (@BridgetRegan)
GYPSY (Netflix) - Brooke Bloom and Kimberly Quinn are both bound for the Naomi Watts-led drama as Rebecca, "the smart, aware and newly enlightened daughter of one of Jean's (Watts) patients who has rejected her more traditional upbringing and life in favor of a work/live situation in Brooklyn"; and Jean's bubbly friend, Holly Faitelson, whose main focuses in life consist of discussing vacation destinations and bake sales," respectively. LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (TNT) - Euros Lyn ("Happy Valley") has been tapped to direct the pilot, based on the best-selling novel by Swedish author John Ajvide Lindqvist. (Deadline.com)
REDLINERS (NBC, New!) - Shaun Cassidy and Kelly Sue DeConnick are set to team for a small screen take on Charlaine Harris's short stories, about "a pair of former spies living in suburbia who are reactivated when a failed hit on one of them leaves the assassin dead. Thrust back into the world of high-stakes espionage, the two find their secret lives bleeding into their suburban ones, as they begin to apply the life-and-death techniques of spycraft to the problems of an ordinary world." Universal Television-based David Janollari Entertainment is behind the hour with David Janollari likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED LAVENDER & ULIN PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin ("Nashville") have set up a potential drama at the Alphabet about "an elite co-ed Special Forces team that will be forced to find a way to navigate both the treacherous waters of their external missions and the equally dangerous undercurrents of tensions - romantic and otherwise - within the unit." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the hour, which has a significant penalty attached.
