Cheri Oteri Joins the Faculty in Season Two of truTV's "Those Who Can't"

Scripted Comedy Also Gives Straight A's to Patton Oswalt and Baron Vaughn, along with Returning Guest Stars Susie Essman, Rory Scovel and Kyle Kinane

truTV announced today the lineup of guest stars set to appear on season two of the network's inaugural scripted comedy series Those Who Can't, which follows the outlandish exploits of the faculty at fictional Smoot High in Denver, Colorado. Cheri Oteri (Saturday Night Live) will lend her comedic talent to seven episodes as the school's new principal, Cattie Goodman. Oteri is represented by the Abrams Artists Agency. Joining Oteri are new characters played by Patton Oswalt (Veep) and Baron Vaughn (Grace and Frankie), as well as returning guest stars from season one Rory Scovel (Ground Floor), the disgraced former principal, Susie Essman (Curb Your Enthusiasm), the wily home ec teacher and Kyle Kinane (Love), the lush former United States history teacher.

Additional guest stars throughout the season include Will Sasso (Another Period), Rich Fulcher (Another Period), Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect), Ginger Gonzaga (Wrecked), Eddie Pepitone (Old School), Jamie Denbo (Children's Hospital), Jon Dore (Funny As Hell), Ian Karmel (The Late Late Show with James Corden) Sean Patton (Best Bars in America), Gregg Henry (Scandal), Jade Catta-Preta (Manhattan Love Story), Noah Crawford (How To Rock) and wrestling legend Kurt Angle. Season two will also welcome back returning guest stars Mary Lynn Rajskub (The Girlfriend Experience) as the school's eccentric drama teacher, Sonya Eddy (Legit), the principal's jaded administrative assistant, and Jason Sklar (Partners) and Randy Sklar (Partners) who both play the school's physician.

Those Who Can't, truTV's first venture into full-length scripted comedy, will return for a second season on Thursday, October 6 at 10:30pm ET/PT. The series features three trouble-making teachers played by show creators and executive producers Adam Cayton-Holland, Andrew Orvedahl and Ben Roy of the Denver-based comedy troupe The Grawlix, with Maria Thayer (Eagleheart) starring alongside as the school librarian. New challenges arise in season two as the teachers struggle to deal with a principal regime change, which has dramatically shaken things up inside Smoot High. They're forced to take their schemes to greater lengths in order to keep their jobs, their friends and their 'dignity.' It's going to be a long year... if they can make their way through it.

Also serving as executive producers on Those Who Can't are Tracey Baird (Flight of the Conchords) and Krysia Plonka (Billy On The Street) of Thank You, Brain! Productions; Michael Rotenberg and Josh Lieberman of 3 Arts Entertainment; and Richard Korson. Angel Annussek is executive-producing for truTV.
