HBO TO MAKE ENTIRE RUN OF LANDMARK SERIES "THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW" AVAILABLE STARTING IN SEPTEMBER

LOS ANGELES, July 30, 2016 - THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW is returning to HBO, with the entire run of the groundbreaking comedy series to be available on HBO NOW, HBO GO, HBO On Demand and affiliate portals starting Friday, Sept. 23. The award-winning show will also be available on HBO Comedy starting Monday, Sept. 26.

HBO completed the deal to present the entire run of the acclaimed series on March 23, 2016, the day before Shandling's untimely passing.

Created by and starring Garry Shandling as a fictional late-night talk-show host, the Emmy(R)-winning comedy series THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW debuted on the network in 1992, running for six seasons. Other cast regulars on the series included Rip Torn and Jeffrey Tambor, as well as Linda Doucett, Janeane Garofalo, Penny Johnson, Wallace Langham, Bob Odenkirk, Jeremy Piven, Mary Lynn Rajskub and Scott Thompson.

Blurring the line between reality and fiction, the show featured dozens of celebrities appearing as themselves, including Roseanne Barr, Carol Burnett, Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres, David Duchovny, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jerry Seinfeld, Warren Beatty, Jon Stewart and Robin Williams.

THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW received Primetime Emmy(R) Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Todd Holland) and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Garry Shandling, Peter Tolan), both for the series finale, and for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Rip Torn).

On March 26, following Shandling's death, the New York Times described THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW as his "singular, scathingly funny HBO series which not only anticipated the current golden age of television but also a more ambitious strain of brutally honest comedy. As tender as it was cynical, it was a show about friendship and betrayal and loneliness - the 'King Lear' of talk-show satires."
