NEW YORK, July 14, 2016 - Comedy Central earned 18 nominations in the 2015-2016 Primetime Emmy(R) Awards competition with five individual series receiving nominations ("Broad City" "Drunk History," "Inside Amy Schumer, ""Key & Peele" and "South Park"). The #1 brand in comedy once again dominated the Variety Sketch Series category claiming three of the six nominees ("Drunk History," "Inside Amy Schumer," "Key & Peele"), with Amy Schumer (Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series) and Keegan Michael-Key (Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series) earning acting nominations for the second consecutive year. With its 20th Season premiering in the fall, five-time Emmy(R)-winner "South Park" received its 15th nomination for Outstanding Animated Program, with co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone each earning their first nominations for Outstanding Character Voice-Over.

In addition to the nominations for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy, the hit fourth season of the Emmy(R) and Peabody(R) Award-winning "Inside Amy Schumer" received two other nominations this year, scoring its third consecutive nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and its second consecutive for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series.

For its fifth and final season, "Key & Peele" was honored with seven total Emmy(R) nominations. Beyond Outstanding Variety Sketch Series and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, "Key & Peele" received a third consecutive nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, as well as nominations for Outstanding Hairstyling for Multi-Camera Series or Special, Outstanding Makeup for a Multi-Camera Series or Special (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Production Design for a Variety, Nonfiction, Reality or Reality-Competition Series and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.

Five-time Emmy(R)-winner and eighteen-time nominee "South Park," scored three nominations including its 15th overall nomination for Outstanding Animated Program nomination for its "You're Not Yelping" episode and the first nominations in the Outstanding Character Voice-Over for series co-creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

An Emmy(R) Award-winner last year, "Drunk History" earned three more nominations including its second consecutive nomination for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series, its first for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety, Nonfiction, Reality or Reality Competition, and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.

Rounding out Comedy Central's nominations, "Hack Into Broad City," digital spinoff of hit series "Broad City," received the franchise's first nomination, for Outstanding Short Form Comedy or Drama Series.

The 68th Primetime Emmy(R) Awards will be presented in two ceremonies. The first, primarily for creative arts categories, will take place on Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11, while the balance of the Emmys, primarily for the performing arts, will be announced before a black-tie audience during a primetime telecast on ABC on Sunday, September 18 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
