Nightline to Air a Special Edition With Byron Pitts Anchoring From Dallas and Juju Chang in New York, Followed By Five-Part Series 'America in Black and White,' Beginning Monday, July 11

As the nation grapples with questions of race relations, justice and equality, ABC News will have special coverage across the network in the aftermath of tragedy in Louisiana, Minnesota, and now Dallas, where five police officers were killed and multiple wounded, marking the deadliest attacks on law enforcement since 9/11. ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos has led three special reports so far today, starting early this morning with President Obama's remarks from Warsaw, Poland. "World News Tonight," "20/20," "Nightline" and "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" will air special editions from Dallas, followed by a week-long series "America in Black and White," beginning Monday, July 11 on "Nightline."

"Tonight" anchor David Muir will report from Dallas in a special edition of "World News Tonight." At 9:00 p.m. EDT he and Elizabeth Vargas will anchor a one-hour live edition of "20/20": "America in Crisis: Ambush in Dallas." The special will include the latest developments, a closer look at racial tensions in our communities and the justice system, vigils around the country for the victims this week and how to talk to children about the tragedy. They will be joined by "This Week" co-anchor Martha Raddatz, reporting from Dallas alongside "Nightline" co-anchor Byron Pitts, chief justice correspondent Pierre Thomas and correspondents Gio Benitez and Ryan Smith.

"Nightline" will air a special edition of the program tonight anchored by Juju Chang in New York and Pitts from Dallas. ("Nightline" reported on the events in Dallas last night and aired a live West Coast edition as the news broke. WATCH: http://abcn.ws/29mQN2k) Each night throughout the week of July 11, "Nightline" will air a special series called "America in Black and White." It will cover the wide-ranging issue of race relations in America and gun violence, including a unique look at traffic stops from the perspective of officers and civilians, a town hall discussion about how to talk to your kids about racial tension across the country, gun safety for civilians, law enforcement training and more. The week wraps up on Friday, July 15, with a full show dedicated to Thomas' report on the epidemic of gun violence and fatalities in America.

Tomorrow, Saturday, July 9, "Good Morning America" will cover the aftermath and latest updates anchored by Paula Faris and Ryan Smith. Correspondents Matt Gutman, Philip Mena and Adrienne Bankert are covering the tragedy from Dallas, and chief White House correspondent Jonathan Karl will continue to report from Washington. Contributors Sunny Hostin, Matthew Dowd, Brad Garrett and Ray Kelly will provide analysis, as they have throughout the day.

On Sunday, July 10, "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos anchored by Martha Raddatz from Dallas will have up-to-the-minute information on the tragic events.

Throughout the weekend and continuing next week, ABC News will have ongoing coverage across all digital platforms on desktop, mobile and OTT, including special reports, live coverage of vigils for the victims and real-time updates and analysis of the latest reportable information.

ABC News Radio will have continuing coverage throughout the day anchored by correspondents Jim Ryan and Alex Stone in Dallas. There will also be anchored coverage of all press conferences anchored by Aaron Katersky.
