OHIO STATE VS. OKLAHOMA LEADS BEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL SCHEDULE EVER FOR FOX SPORTS
Big Ten and Pac-12 Championship Games Also Highlight 2016 Schedule
New York - With kickoff of the 2016 college football season just three short months away, FOX Sports today releases its national schedule, featuring top games from the Big 12, Pac-12 and Big Ten conferences on FOX broadcast network, FS1, FOX Sports Regional Networks (FSN), FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO. FOX Sports' college football coverage begins Friday, Sept. 2, and wraps up with back-to-back conference championship games on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3, with a full season's worth of exciting action in between.
The FOX broadcast network is home to one of the sport's biggest non-conference marquee matchups this season, a Week 3 showdown between two blue-blood powerhouses, as 2016 College Football Playoff semifinalist Oklahoma hosts 2015 national champion Ohio State in prime time on Saturday, Sept. 17. Coverage begins at 7:00 PM ET as the Sooners and Buckeyes square off for the first time since 1983 and just the third time ever.
This season, both the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences crown their champions on the FOX broadcast network. The Pac-12 Championship Game kicks off from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Friday, Dec. 2, followed by the Big Ten Championship Game from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, Dec. 3. Additionally, on the final day of the season, the Big 12 champion is likely to be crowned on a FOX Sports network, as the conference's top teams face off on FOX and FS1 in the final three Big 12 games of the season.
FOX Sports is also the destination for several of the nation's top rivalry games in 2016, highlighted by the historic Red River Showdown between Oklahoma and Texas. The game makes its FOX Sports debut on Saturday, Oct. 8, as FS1 carries the matchup, set against the picturesque backdrop of the State Fair of Texas, live from the historic Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Week 2 of the season brings the "Holy War" to the FOX broadcast network, as Utah hosts BYU on Saturday, Sept. 10, with coverage beginning at 7:00 PM ET. Thanksgiving weekend is stuffed with intra-state competition, as FOX and FS1 televise TCU at Texas, and Washington at Washington State in the Apple Cup.
The 2016 season on FS1 kicks off with a bang on Friday, Sept. 2, as 2015 Heisman Trophy runner-up and returning favorite Christian McCaffrey leads Stanford against K-State and head coach Bill Snyder, who enters his 25th season leading the Wildcats. FS1's Week 1 schedule on Saturday, Sept. 3, also includes a Big 12-SEC showdown between Missouri and West Virginia (12:00 PM ET), plus BYU vs. Arizona (10:30 PM ET) from University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., the site of last season's College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
In addition to games on the FOX broadcast network, FS1, FOX Sports Regional Networks and FOX Deportes, BTN carries a full slate of games from the Big Ten Conference. BTN's loaded 10-game primetime schedule, featuring last season's Big Ten Champion and College Football Playoff semifinalist Michigan State, 2015 Big Ten West Division champion Iowa and more, can be found HERE.
FOX Sports GO, the critically-acclaimed app that provides live-streaming video of FOX Sports programming, offers full presentations of the network's college football schedule.
