I LOVE DICK (Amazon; W: Sarah Gubbins; D: Jill Soloway) - Roberta Colindrez ("Girls") is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about a struggling married couple Chris (Kathryn Hahn) and Sylvere in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas, and their mutual obsession with an off-putting but charismatic professor, Dick (Kevin Bacon). She'll play Devon, "a butch cowboy and amateur playwright who works as groundskeeper on the property Chris and Sylvere are renting in Marfa. She is instantly drawn to Chris, but she's waiting for the couple to come to some sort of agreement before she makes her move." (Deadline.com)
JAIL: BIG TEXAS (Spike TV, New!) - The cable channel has ordered 20 episodes of a new "Jail" franchise, this time "shot on location at county jails throughout the Lone Star State and follows prison inmates from their initial booking through their first moments behind bars." Langley Productions' John and Morgan Langley are the executive producers of the series, which is set to premiere Saturday, July 9 at 9:00/8:00c. The original, "Jail: Las Vegas," has been home to Spike TV since 2013 after launching on MyNetwork TV in 2007. (THR.com)
LOT, A (HBO; W: Whitney Cummings; D: Richard Shepard) - John Ratzenberger has joined the cast of the Whitney Cummings-led comedy pilot, about how Amanda, a financially successful woman navigates a world complicated by the biological and cultural differences between the sexes. He'll play Gerry, "Amanda's father, who has a stroke-related condition known as locked-in syndrome. He has full mental capacity and can hear and smell, but he cannot speak or move and his eyes remain closed. He communicates with his daughter and nurse by wiggling his toe." Brett Goldstein, Lucy Punch, Krystal Smith, and Jen Tullock also star. (Deadline.com)
