"THE REAL" RENEWED IN 95%+ OF THE U.S.

(April 11, 2016 - Burbank, CA) - The hit syndicated talk series, "The Real" has been cleared for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons on television stations covering more than 95% of the country (including on the Fox Television Stations in a previously announced deal). The series, which just last week was nominated for a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment, will also continue to air on BET weeknights, having been renewed for the 2016-17 season, it was announced today by Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

The series is posting ratings growth in its second season - a modern-day rarity in first-run syndication. "The Real" is the first syndicated series in seven years to post gains in both the fall 2015 (Nov 14 vs. Nov 15).

Groups renewing the show include: Fox, Sinclair, Hearst, Tribune, Media General, Nexstar, Cox, Gray, Weigel, Sunbeam, Scripps, Raycom, Tegna, Northwest, Meredith, Marshall, Mission, Cordillera, Entravision, Mckinnon and News Press, among others. The series will also continue to air weeknights on BET where it currently airs weeknights at 1 am ET/10 pm PT.

"'The Real' has carved out an impressive home in the daytime space," said Werner. "The uniqueness of the series is not in its format, but rather in its hosts, whose individuals voices are distinctive and fun and collectively have created a unique destination for conversations that cannot be found elsewhere. Growing in their second season is a great achievement and is a leading indicator of continued success and growth in the years ahead."

"We're so proud of how 'The Real' has grown from season to season," says Donna Redier Linsk, Executive Vice President of Business Operations and Programming for Telepictures. "Every day our hosts discuss a wide range of topics in their unique voices, having honest and compelling conversations that resonate with our viewers - and we can't wait to see where season three takes us!"

Adds "The Real" executive producer Rachel Miskowiec, "I am so proud of our team and how much we've accomplished in a short amount of time. We will continue to welcome inspiring guests and produce empowering segments that unapologetically engage our fans like no other talk show out there."

"The Real" is the number-two shareable ranking in total social action (likes, comments, shares on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram) behind only WBDTD's "Ellen." And, with more than 447 million YouTube views to date, "The Real" is second only to "Ellen" for the most-viewed among daytime television.

During season two, "The Real" co-hosts traveled to our nation's capital to interview First Lady Michelle Obama regarding the "Better Make Room" Campaign, which is part of her "Reach Higher" Initiative.

In addition to an Outstanding Talk Show/Entertainment nomination, "The Real" is nominated for three additional Daytime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host.

Season two notable guests have also included: Debbie Allen, Ashanti, Erykah Badu, Babyface, Travis Barker, Toni Braxton, Amy Brenneman, Bobby Brown, Don Cheadle, Margaret Cho, Morris Chestnut, Jon Cryer, Ice Cube, Loretta Devine, Jermaine Dupri, Omar Epps, Kirk Franklin, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Omari Hardwick, Fifth Harmony, Melissa Joan Hart, Holly Holm, Janet Hubert, Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson (cast: "The Jacksons: Next Generation") , Ken Jeong, Ta'Rhonda Jones (cast: "Empire"), Gladys Knight, Sanaa Lathan, Lori Loughlin, Matt McGorry, Christina Milian, Joe Morton, First Lady Michelle Obama, Kelly Osbourne, Janel Parrish, Master P, Tyler Perry, Kellie Pickler, Zac Posen, Keisha Knight Pulliam, L.A. Reid, Smokey Robinson, Rick Ross, Kelly Rowland, Ja Rule, Rev Run, RuPaul, Sherri Shepherd, Russell Simmons, Jerry Springer, Mike Tyson, Iyanla Vanzant, Fetty Wap, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Marlon Wayans and former NAACP chapter president Rachel Dolezal, who finally - and honestly - answers questions about her race.

About "The Real":

"The Real" is a one-hour, daily talk show hosted by the dynamic team of Adrienne Bailon, Tamar Braxton, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Tamera Mowry-Housley on Fox Television Stations and in national syndication (check local listings), with a rebroadcast on cable network BET. Led by five bold, diverse and outspoken hosts, these women reflect the home audience and unapologetically say what women are actually thinking. Their unique perspectives are brought to life through their candid conversations about topics ranging from their own personal lives to the news of the day to beauty, fashion and relationships. Unlike other talk shows, each of the five hosts is admittedly a "work in progress," and fearlessly invites the viewers into their lives. Their fresh points of view, youthful energy and passion have turned the traditional talk show on its head. Produced by Telepictures Productions and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution, "The Real" originates from Los Angeles. Rachel Miskowiec ("Good Morning America," "Katie," "The Tyra Banks Show," "Judge Hatchett," "The Ricki Lake Show") is executive producer.
