Animal Planet Announces All-New Series "Life of Dogs" - A Look Back at the Natural History of Our Best Friend
Discover the Evolution from Wolf to Woof When Series Premieres Early 2017
(New York, NY) What is it about the canine species that is so interesting? Is it their diversity or their demeanor; their intelligence or their obedience? Animal Planet's LIFE OF DOGS (WT) takes viewers on an episodic journey through the natural history of humankind's oldest and most-loyal friend. Filmed in 4K for an ultra high-definition viewing experience, the series reveals the biological and instinctual science behind the genera of dogs and their roles in our past and present lives. The five-episode series is slated to premiere early 2017. In addition to its premiere on Animal Planet, the series will also air on Discovery's factual networks in more than 220 countries and territories.
LIFE OF DOGS takes viewers to 24 countries to meet a wide-range of breeds - from wild dogs, worker dogs, domesticated pets and everything in between - and shows the evolution of their relationship with humans. From detecting cancer, standing by our sides in battle or helping man survive the harshest conditions, humans have heavily relied on canines for our advancement around the globe. The series explores what it is about dogs that has made them our most trusted companions and why certain breeds are best suited to carry out their specific tasks.
LIFE OF DOGS is produced by Plimsoll Productions for Discovery Networks International. Helen Hawken is commissioner and Rob Holloway is executive producer for Discovery Networks International. Grant Mansfield and Martha Holmes are executive producers for Plimsoll Productions. Krishna San Nicolas is producer for Animal Planet.
