MULTIPLE FRESHMAN SERIES AND RETURNING HITS FUEL THE HGTV 2016 PROGRAMMING JUGGERNAUT

Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade and Monica Potter Among Celebs to Tackle Home Renovations

NEW YORK [For Immediate Release - March 29, 2016] Top 10 ranked cable network HGTV, which shattered a succession of ratings records - including three consecutive "best year ever" performances and is on pace to deliver its best first quarter ever - is loading its 2016 programming lineup with 17 premiere series, fresh episodes of 24 popular titles and 14 one-hour specials.

Many of the upcoming and returning series on HGTV, which produces an impressive 750 hours of original programming each year, feature new celebrity talent, including actress Gabrielle Union and Miami Heat basketball player Dwyane Wade; NBC-TV's Parenthood actress Monica Potter (The Monica Potter Project w.t.) and established stars, such as Chip and Joanna Gaines (Fixer Upper); Property Brothers Jonathan and Drew Scott (Brother vs. Brother); and married house flippers Tarek and Christina El Moussa (Flip or Flop Selling Summer).

HGTV's roster showcases hugely popular home and lifestyle themes, such as families tackling major home renovations; the buying/selling of homes; flipping properties to improve neighborhoods and rebuild communities; fantasy destination programming; and renovation/design competitions.

"For three consecutive years, HGTV has delivered consistent ratings growth among P25-54 and kept a solid hold as the #1 network among upscale W25-54," said Allison Page, general manager, HGTV, DIY Network and Great American Country. "HGTV's programming is successful because our experts are passionate about real estate, home renovation and restoration. They would do this work whether or not cameras were there."

Programming with experts who help families maximize the value of their home continue to do well, so HGTV just premiered Listed Sisters, starring Nashville-based real estate and home design business partners Alana and Lex LeBlanc. The series follows the LeBlanc sisters as they help families sell the homes they've outgrown, search for a new place and buy their dream home. Good Bones follows the mother/daughter home renovation and flipping duo Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak as they buy Indianapolis homes in serious disrepair - sometimes gutting them to the studs - and transform them into stunning remodels.

Other new titles include Home Town, a series that stars a couple in Laurel, Miss. who renovate historic houses; Masters of Flip, with married home renovators and flippers, Kortney and Dave Wilson, who breathe new life into rundown Nashville homes and Vintage Flip, which showcases Orange County, Calif.'s Jessie and Tina Rodriguez as they renovate vintage homes to include updated features.

With returning hits serving as the cornerstone of HGTV's programming strategy, the network triggered a new season of the hit competition series Brother vs. Brother, starring red-hot twins, the Scott brothers. And, after another successful season of Property Brothers at Home, it has commissioned another installment of that series for a year-end premiere. Also hitting the air are new seasons of top performers: Fixer Upper (Chip and Joanna Gaines); Property Brothers; Flip or Flop (Tarek and Christina El Moussa); Love It or List It(Hilary Farr and David Visentin) and America's Most Desperate Kitchens (John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino).

HGTV's highly successful fantasy destination programming gets a new entry with Mountain Life. The series features homebuyers who want to buy a dream home in the mountains. HGTV also plans premiere episodes for other fantasy favorites, including: Beachfront Bargain Hunt, Lakefront Bargain Hunt, Caribbean Life, Island Hunters, Living Big Sky, Island Life, Hawaii Life, along with nearly 450 episodes in its hit House Hunters franchise.

"HGTV is thriving because we have an established cadre of compelling star experts, as well as an influx of new talent who resonate with our audience," said Page. "Our content and scheduling strategy is solid, we have a powerful development pipeline, and we've grown our ratings across the board - particularly with upscale audiences - for several years. We've already started off 2016 with record breaking numbers and we will be going strong all year."
