JOIN MANDY MOORE AND ZACHARY LEVI IN THE CAST OF DISNEY CHANNEL'S ANIMATED SERIES, "TANGLED: BEFORE EVER AFTER"
Joining Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi in "Tangled: Before Ever After," Disney Channel's upcoming animated series for kids, tweens and families based on Walt Disney Animation Studios' acclaimed feature film, are: Ashley Judd ("Divergent") as Rapunzel's mother Queen Arianna; Broadway star Eden Espinosa ("Wicked") as Rapunzel's handmaiden and confidant, Cassandra; comedian Jeff Ross ("The Wedding Ringer") as Hook Hand's brother Hook Foot; and Richard Kind ("Inside Out") as Uncle Monty.
Reprising their roles from the feature film are Jeffrey Tambor ("Transparent") and Paul F. Tompkins ("Anchorman") as Big Nose and Shorty, members of the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs; and M.C. Gainey ("Lost") as Captain of the Guards.
Also joining the cast are: Sean Hayes ("Will & Grace") as Pete the Guard; Peter MacNicol ("Ally McBeal") as Nigel the Advisor; Clancy Brown ("The Shawshank Redemption") as Rapunzel's father King Frederic; Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ("Lost") as blacksmith Xavier; Diedrich Bader ("The Drew Carey Show") as Stan the Guard; Charles Halford ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") as Pub Thug Vladimir; Steve Blum (Disney XD's "Star Wars Rebels") as Pub Thug Attila Buckethead; James Monroe Iglehart (Broadway's "Aladdin") as Eugene's friend Lance Strongbow; Jeremy Jordan ("Supergirl") as teen alchemist Varian; and Jonathan Banks ("Breaking Bad") as Quirin, Varian's father.
As previously announced, "Tangled: Before Ever After" is set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 short film, "Tangled Ever After." Premiering in 2017 on Disney Channels around the world, the series unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona.
Produced by Disney Television Animation, "Tangled: Before Ever After" was developed by animation veterans Chris Sonnenburg (Disney's "Enchanted") and Shane Prigmore ("The Lego Movie"). Sonnenburg serves as executive producer and supervising director; Benjamin Balistreri ("How to Train Your Dragon") is supervising producer; Jase Ricci (Disney XD's "Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero") is story editor; and Alan Bodner ("The Iron Giant") is art director. The series will feature music by Academy Award-winning Disney Legend Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater. Emmy Award-winning Kevin Kliesch ("Tangled Ever After") will serve as score composer. Celebrated artist Claire Keane ("Frozen," "Tangled"), daughter of Disney Legend Glen Keane, who was animation supervisor on the feature film, is contributing design work and consulting on the series.
