DOWNWARD DOG (ABC/ABCS; W: Samm Hodges & Michael Killen; D: TBA) - Kirby Howell-Baptiste is the latest addition to the comedy pilot, about a disorganized, unapologetic woman, Nan (Allison Tolman), and her dog, Martin, voiced by Samm Hodges. She'll play Jenn in the project, which also stars Lucas Neff and Barry Rothbart and is based on the web series produced by Animal Media Group. (Deadline.com)
MY FRIEND 50 (FOX, New!) - Ava Tramer ("Angie Tribeca") has set up a new single-camera comedy at the network which follows Amanda Kramer, "an unstable twentysomething who believes that joining 50 Cent's entourage is the answer to all her problems. Her unlikely journey with 50 Cent's crew takes the form of a bizarre documentary commissioned by the most unreliable narrator in history: Amanda." Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will appear as himself in the project as well as executive produce via his G-Unit Film & Television alongside Will Packer via his Universal Television-based Will Packer Productions. The latter's Korin D. Huggins will co-executive produce. (Deadline.com)
POWER (ABC, New!) - Michael Cooney (Identity) has booked a potential drama at the Alphabet described as "a lavish primetime soap of passion, greed and hope set in the alternate reality of Steampunk - Circa 2016 - telling the story of two rival families battling for power and the woman who takes them down." Ian Sander and Kim Moses will also executive produce however no studio was indicated. (Deadline.com)
QUEEN CHARLOTTE (Amazon, New!) - Tina Andrews ("The Sallie Hemmings Story: An American Scandal") has sold a new drama to the streaming service which "explores the theory that the German-born British queen was a Moor hiding her color, along with a famous lover, and a relic the Vatican desperately wants. Her husband, King George III, loves a mistress he can't marry, is losing the Seven Years War, and fending off secret enemies within Buckingham Palace." Ian Sander and Kim Moses are also on board to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
RAMBO: NEW BLOOD (FOX, New!) - Famed feature writer Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive) is developing a TV series based on Sylvester Stallone's iconic big screen hero. Said effort will focus on "exploring the complex relationship between Rambo and his son, J.R., an ex-Navy SEAL." Entertainment One and Millennium Films are behind the hour with Avi Lerner and Sylvester Stallone also reportedly executive producing. It's not clear if Stallone will have an on camera role. The Rambo character originated in David Morrell's novel "First Blood." (Deadline.com)
AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Sterling Jerins has booked a regular role on HBO's "Divorce" as "Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert's (Thomas Hayden Church) daughter" (Deadline.com); Bethenny Frankel's newly launched B Real Productions banner has signed an overall deal with Leftfield Entertainment (Deadline.com); Joy Bryant will guest on "Rosewood" as "a cardiologist with a big and bold personality who takes Rosewood (Morris Chesnut) on as a brand-new patient" (EW.com); and Aubrey Plaza will visit "Criminal Minds" during its winter premiere (TVLine.com).
