Both the Popular "Voice" Coach and Country Music Superstar Will Each Play Their Hit Singles "Freedom" and "Country Nation," Respectively, on Monday, Nov. 23 and Tuesday, Nov. 24 Telecasts
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - Nov. 19, 2015 - Performer-producer extraordinaire Pharrell Williams and country music superstar Brad Paisley will perform on the Monday, Nov. 23 (8-10 p.m. ET) and Tuesday, Nov. 24 (8-9 p.m.) live telecasts, respectively, of NBC's Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice."
Williams will perform the song "Freedom" while Paisley, who was an adviser earlier this season on "The Voice," will sing "Country Nation," the new hit from his best-selling "Moonshine in the Trunk" album that debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and hit #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
Williams is, of course, a coach on "The Voice" and a creative force, using music, fashion and design to express his distinctive style.
From his beginnings as a teenage prodigy and multi-instrumentalist in Virginia Beach back in the early '90s, through enough hits to earn him Billboard's Producer of the Decade in 2010, to his current status as multi-media superstar, Williams has never stopped creating. Starting his producing career as one half of the Neptunes with Chad Hugo, Williams has helped create such classics as "Daft Punk's "Get Lucky," Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," Nelly's "Hot in Herre," Jay-Z's "I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me)," Britney Spears's "I'm A Slave 4 U" and Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You." With more than 100 million copies of his productions sold, his music sounds like something no one else has thought of just yet.
He's also created a new way of looking at established stars such as Snoop Dogg, Madonna, and even the Rolling Stones. Over four albums, Williams and Hugo along with Shae Haley, created an unpredictable hybrid as part of the alt-rock/hip-hop group N.E.R.D. The music industry has honored Pharrell with 10 Grammy Awards (including 2004's and 2014's Producer of the Year) and ASCAP's prestigious Golden Note Award in 2012. He also received a 2014 Academy Award nomination for his original song "Happy" featured in the animated film "Despicable Me 2." "Happy" remained atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 10 consecutive weeks, peaked at #1 on iTunes in 103 markets worldwide, and was the lead single off his Grammy-nominated album, "G I R L."
Paisley is a critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer whose talents have earned him numerous awards, including three Grammys, two American Music Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards and 14 Country Music Association Awards (including Entertainer of the Year), among many others. He has been a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2001. Paisley has written 20 of his 23 #1 singles, with the first being his 1999 hit "He Didn't Have to Be" and his most recent, "Perfect Storm," from his chart-topping 2014 album "Moonshine in the Trunk."
In support of his current hit, "Country Nation," Paisley recently completed his "Country Nation College Tour presented by Zaxby's," which included various stops at college campuses around the U.S. in September and October. On Jan. 21, he'll launch the 2016 winter leg of his highly successful "Crushin' It World Tour," continuing across the U.S. and Canada during the winter months with special guests Eric Paslay and Cam.
