DAMAGE CONTROL (ABC, New!) - Marvel Television has received a put pilot commitment from the Alphabet for single-camera comedy project about "the overworked, underpaid, clean up crew of the Marvel Universe. Specializing in dealing with the aftermath of the unique fallout from superhero conflicts, they're the ones who are in charge of returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, help to reschedule a wedding venue after it has been vaporized in a superhero battle, or even track down a missing prize African parrot that's been turned to stone or goo." Ben Karlin ("Modern Family") will pen the script and executive produce alongside Jeph Loeb and 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner for ABC Studios. (Deadline.com)


LETHAL WEAPON (FOX, New!) - Matt Miller ("Forever") has scored a put pilot commitment at the network for a small screen take on the Mel Gibson/Danny Glover-led film franchise. Said effort will follow "Texas cop and former Navy SEAL Martin Riggs who moves to Los Angeles to start anew after the loss of his wife and baby. There, he gets partnered with LAPD Detective Roger Murtaugh, who, having recently suffered a minor heart attack, must avoid any stress in his life." Warner Bros. Television-based Lin Pictures is behind the project with the company's Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz executive producing alongside Good Session Productions' Miller. (Deadline.com)


MACGYVER (CBS, New!) - Writer R. Scott Gemmill ("NCIS: LA") and director James Wan (Furious 7) are spearheading a reboot of Lee David Zlotoff's 1985-92 series, in which "twentysomething Angus MacGyver gets recruited into the clandestine organization from the original series where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening." Said effort is set up at CBS Television Studios with Henry Winkler and Atomic Monster's Michael Clear likewise executive producing. (Deadline.com)


NIGHTRISE (Spike TV, New!) - Oscar-nominee David Arata (Children of Men) is developing a new drama at the cable channel "set against a global pandemic." Neil Marshall is already attached to helm the Legendary Television-based project as well as executive produce alongside Arata and Applebox Entertainment's Marc Helwig. (Deadline.com)


NOTORIOUS (ABC, New!) - Josh Berman and Allie Hagan are set to team for a new drama at the Alphabet which "follows the professional and personal relationship between a charismatic attorney and a powerhouse television producer as they attempt to control the media, the justice system, and ultimately - each other." Sony Pictures Television is behind the project, which has a put pilot commitment, with Kenny Meiselas, Mark Geragos and Wendy Walker as well as The Firm's Jeff Kwatinetz and Josh Barry executive producing alongside Berman. Hagan will serve as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)


UNTITLED JACK BURDITT PROJECT (CBS, New!) - Jack Burditt ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt") has sold a new multi-camera comedy to the Eye about "an oddball athlete who drives family, friends and strangers bonkers after he unexpectedly finds himself retired." Universal Television is behind the project with Robert Carlock, Little Stranger's Tina Fey and 3 Arts Entertainment's David Miner also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
