BERLIN STATION (Epix/Paramount; W: Olen Steinhauer; D: Michaël Roskam) - Leland Orser is the latest to book a role on the upcoming drama, about Daniel Meyer (Richard Armitage), the cerebral, newly-anointed CIA case officer who goes from being an analyst at Langley to an undercover agent in Berlin tasked with finding an informant. He'll play Robert Kovac, "the CIA Section Head," in the project, which also features Michelle Forbes, Rhys Ifans and Richard Jenkins. (Deadline.com)
DEATH OF EVA SOFIA VALDEZ, THE (ABC, New!) - Charise Castro Smith ("Devious Maids") has sold a new project to the Alphabet billed as "a sexy revenge drama with a supernatural twist about a Cuban-American family on the rise as they navigate multiple business ventures in Miami, familial rivalries and dark secrets from the past that come back to haunt them." Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters are the executive producers on the ABC Studios-based project, with Smith serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
FLORENT (Showtime, New!) - Actor Alan Cumming, writer Patricia Resnick and director Rosemary Rodriguez have set up a new comedy at the pay channel "inspired by the true story of Florent Morellet (to be played by Cumming), who in the early '80s opened a restaurant in NY's wild and woolly Meatpacking District." Said effort will "explore the light and dark of that time, as well as the craziness of a place that become a destination for everyone from NY's literati to the neighborhood hookers and hustlers, the NYPD, and the burgeoning LGBT community." Resnick, Rodriguez and StoryBy Entertainment's Jonathan Baruch and Howard Braunstein are the executive producers of the project, which was previously set up at SundanceTV, with Magic Lantern Pics' David Sigal and Michael Tive as co-executive producers and Cumming producing. I SHUDDER (TV Land; W: Paul Rudnick; D: TBA) - Renee Elise Goldsberry has joined the cast of the comedy pilot, about the eccentric Elyot Vionnet (Hamish Linklater), an advocate of manners, style and most importantly, common decency. Observing people committing heinous crimes of etiquette, he tries to counsel them from afar, inserting himself into their lives most unwelcomely. When the individuals he deems classless choose not to take his advice, they are met with terrible consequences. In the midst of his mission, Elyot allies himself with his neighbor, an 11-year-old girl named Stella, to try to make the world better, one tactless person at a time. She'll play Lucy Wainscott, "a lovely, high-spirited, down-to-earth woman. Although she was born rich, she lives a happier and more fulfilled life by driving an ambulance and helping anyone in need." (Deadline.com)
ROBBERS (TNT/Sony; W: Christopher Cook & Michael Dinner; D: Michael Dinner) - The cable channel has ordered the drama - about a cop, two running buddies on a crime spree across Texas, and the girl who becomes the complication in a very unique love triangle - to pilot. Tim McGraw had previously been attached to star in the project, but has since departed. Dinner, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly are the executive producers with Cook, whose book the series is based upon, serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
SNOWFALL (FX/FXP; W: Eric Amadio & John Singleton; D: John Singleton) - Tim Matheson and Camila Banus have joined the ever-expanding cast of the pilot, a one-hour drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and its ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows three characters on a violent collision course: Franklin Saint (Damson Idris), young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo Zapata (Sergio Peris-Mencheta), a Mexican wrestler turned gangster in search of his American dream; and Logan Miller (Billy Magnussen), a prominent family's "black sheep" desperate to escape his father's shadow. He'll play Logan's father George Miller, "a wealthy oil titan"; while she's set as Lucia Villanueva, "whose father is a very successful drug dealer who almost certainly has given his daughter too much over the years." (Deadline.com)
THIRST (HBO, New!) - Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are spearheading a new movie at the pay channel "set against the backdrop of the global water crisis." Writer Charles Leavitt (In the Heart of the Sea) and director Elliott Lester ("Nightingale") are already attached to the HBO Films project with Damon, Affleck, Lester, Josh Weinstock, Jennifer Todd and Drew Vinton executive producing and Leavitt and Margaret Chernin as co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED MATT MURRAY PROJECT (FOX, New!) - Matt Murray ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") has received a put pilot commitment from the network for a single-camera comedy about "a larger-than-life federal judge and the overworked twentysomethings who clerk for him."
