ANIMAL KINGDOM (TNT/WHT; W: Jonathan Lisco; D: John Wells) - Molly Gordon ("Orange Is the New Black") will round out the cast of the drama pilot, about 17-year-old Josh (Finn Cole), who moves in with his wild, free-wheeling relatives in their Southern California beach town and is pulled into their life of indulgence and excess. She'll play J's steady girlfriend Nikky, "a young woman in full-scale rebellion against her bourgeois upbringing." Ben Robson, Daniella Alonso, Ellen Barkin, Jake Weary, Scott Speedman and Shawn Hatosy also star. (Deadline.com)
FLAKED (Netflix; W: Mark Chappell & Will Arnett; D: TBA) - Lina Esco and Ruth Kearney have both been added to the upcoming comedy, the serio-comic story of a self-appointed "guru" who falls for the object of his best friend's fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel. Will Arnett plays Chip, a man doing his honest best to stay one step ahead of his own lies. The former will play Kara, "Chip's current girlfriend [who's] currently going through her first year of sobriety, but is not receiving the support from Chip she needs"; with the latter as London, "a beautiful Venice Beach waitress, who is the latest object of Dennis' (David Sullivan) affection, but she is clearly smitten with Chip." George Basil and Robert Wisdom also star. (Deadline.com)
HUNGRY (FOX, New!) - Nina Colman has sold a new drama to the network about "a young, aspiring chef who lands the thankless job as a line cook for one of Manhattan's most famous - and infamous - culinary stars." Tiny Pyro's Marti Noxon and Superb Entertainment's Meryl Poster also serve as executive producers for 20th Century Fox Television. (Variety.com)
HYPOCHONDRIAC (FOX, New!) - Robin Shorr ("The Middle") is looking to import the Colombian telenovela "La Hipocondriaca" at the network, about "a Type A hypochondriac who receives a fatal diagnosis. She then sets herself - and her friends and family - on a path of comedic destruction in pursuit of her authentic self." 20th Century Fox Television is behind the single-camera comedy with actress Julie Bowen and Crossover Entertainment's George Salinas and Jaime Aymerich also among the executive producers. INDIVISIBLE (ABC, New!) - Rina Mimoun ("Mistresses") has booked a new drama at the Alphabet which "revolves around the tenuous friendship of a single mother newly transplanted to New York and her devout Islamic neighbor. The pair's relationship is tested when the love affair between their children sets off a global jihad." Said effort is set up at ABC Studios with Gary Randall also serving as an executive producer. RANCH, THE (Netflix; W: Don Reo & Jim Patterson; D: TBA) - Debra Winger has signed onto the Ashton Kutcher/Danny Masterson-led multi-camera comedy, in which Kutcher's character returns home after a brief semi-pro football career to run the family business with his brother, played by Masterson. She'll play their mom alongside Sam Elliott as their father. (Deadline.com)
UNDENIABLE WITH JOE BUCK (DirecTV, New!) - Emmy-winning sportscaster Joe Buck is set to host a new 10-episode interview series for DirecTV. Vince Vaughn and Peter Billingsley's Wild West Productions is behind the project, which will feature Michael Phelps, Derek Jeter, Troy Aikman, Kelly Slater, Jerry Jones, Wayne Gretzky, Jimmy Johnson and many more. Buck will likewise executive produce with Victoria Vaughn as a co-executive producer and Micah Mason producing. Production is underway for a fall premiere. (Variety.com)
UNTITLED ALISON SCHAPKER PROJECT (ABC, New!) - Alison Schapker ("The Flash") has landed a potential drama at the Alphabet about "a group of Catholic nuns fighting the closure of their Bronx-based convent who must suddenly deal with three young novices whose arrival unearths long-buried secrets." The project is set up at ABC Studios-based Shondaland with the company's Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers likewise executive producing. (THR.com)
WAY, THE (Hulu/Universal; W: Jessica Goldberg; D: Mike Cahill) - Amy Forsyth is the latest addition to the upcoming drama, which examines a family at the center of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power. She's on board as Ashley Fields, "Hawk's (Kyle Allen) smart, popular classmate who forces him to confront the confines of his own religious upbringing." Aaron Paul, Emma Greenwell, Hugh Dancy, Michelle Monaghan, Rockmond Dunbar and Sarah Jones also star. (Deadline.com)
YOU ME HER (DirecTV/eOne; W: John Scott Shepherd; D: Nisha Ganatra) - Greg Poehler and Rachel Blanchard have been tapped for the lead roles in the 10-episode comedy series, about Jack (Poehler) and Emma (Blanchard), "a happily married couple who are coming off several years of "baby sex" and fertility struggles. A waning sex life and a sequence of surprising turns are about to spin their relationship in a direction neither could have imagined." In addition, Nisha Ganatra has signed on to helm all 10 installments with Shepherd likewise penning all 10 episodes. Alan Gasmer, John Morayniss and Gerard Bocaccio are also executive producing alongside Alta Loma Entertainment's Peter Jaysen. (THR.com)
