ACCLAIMED FILMMAKER MORGAN SPURLOCK HELMS NEW CMT DOCUMENTARY "MORGAN SPURLOCK PRESENTS FREEDOM! THE MOVIE" PREMIERING SATURDAY, JULY 11
NASHVILLE - June 22, 2015 - From Academy Award and Emmy-nominated Filmmaker and Executive Producer Morgan Spurlock comes "Morgan Spurlock Presents Freedom! The Movie." This epic two-hour film explores the idea of independence and asks if we're all still truly liberated in today's America. Equal parts comedic and irreverent, the film stars freedom-loving comedian Billy Wayne Davis, who traverses the country on a quest to find Americans exercising their God-given freedoms, no matter the cost, because freedom isn't free, even with a Groupon. "Morgan Spurlock Presents Freedom! The Movie" premieres on Saturday, July 11 at 9 pm ET/PT on CMT.
This is the second in a series of original documentaries produced by CMT. The first, "Urban Cowboy: The Rise and Fall of Gilley's," premiered on June 13 and garnered nearly 3.5 million viewers.
"Morgan Spurlock Presents Freedom! The Movie" is produced by Warrior Poets, with Morgan Spurlock, Jeremy Chilnick and Ethan Goldman as executive producers. Jayson Dinsmore, Lewis Bogach and John Miller-Monzon executive produce for CMT. Matthew Testa directed the film.
