TO BUILD A RELATIONSHIP?"
VH1 COZIES UP TO "THE BACHELOR" CREATOR MIKE FLEISS AND
WARNER HORIZON TELEVISION TO DELIVER
A NEW TWIST ON FINDING LOVE
SANTA MONICA, CA -June 16, 2015 - VH1 switches up the rules (and order) of dating with the network's newest series, "Love At First Kiss." The eight-episode series, from "The Bachelor" creator Mike Fleiss and Warner Horizon Television, is slated to premiere in Fall 2015 and will bring together two strangers, both single and looking for love, who use just a kiss as their initial greeting and first and only impression.
Based on a Dutch format of the same name from Eyeworks (now owned by Warner Bros. Television Group), each hour-long episode of "Love At First Kiss" will explore the captivating power of a first kiss between two strangers. Straight or gay, the only qualification to be on the show is the willingness to kiss somebody you just met. And the experiment is as simple as it sounds - walk up to a complete stranger, kiss, and then decide if there's enough chemistry to want to get to know each other better. Can a kiss really lead to true romance? Or will they choose to go their separate ways?
Before they make their final decision, they must first both agree to go on a two-minute speed date. Then if each person is still interested they must decide if they want to enter the final stage: a real first date. Cameras will catch all of the awkward moments, candid confessions as well as physical and emotional connections.
"'Love At First Kiss' is a must-see, provocative social experiment that tests the importance of physical chemistry in a relationship" said Susan Levison, Executive Vice President, Original Programming & Production for VH1. "VH1 is thrilled to team up with the masters of televised love at Next Entertainment to put the proverbial cart before the horse and find out if one kiss between two strangers can lead to true love."
"Love At First Kiss" will feature eight sometimes-steamy, sometimes-awkward smooches in the "Kiss Room" per episode. If a kiss falls flat, a recurring cast of daters will have the chance to go back to the Kiss Room until they find chemistry. Throughout the series, the audience will witness all of the heartfelt scenes that come with the ups-and-downs of scoring that first kiss, first date and, hopefully, true love.
"Love At First Kiss" is created and executive produced by Mike Fleiss and Bennett Graebner for Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television (WHTV). Brooke Karzen and Dan Sacks are overseeing the project for WHTV. Susan Levison, Jill Holmes, Fernando Mills & Laurel Stier Executive Produce for VH1.
