Hulu Orders New Original Series from Emmy(R) Award-Winner Jason Katims
Today, we are proud to announce that Emmy Award-winner(R) Jason Katims and writer/creator Jessica Goldberg are the latest talented storytellers to join Hulu with their captivating new drama series, The Way.
From the struggles of a football team and family in Friday Night Lights, to the joys, heartaches and headaches of four siblings in Parenthood, Katims is known for shows that evoke emotion and complex characters.
The Way is no different. This 10-episode series will examine a family at the center of a controversial faith-based movement struggling with relationships, marriage and power.
The Way comes to Hulu from Universal Television and is Katims' first non-network television series and also the first to premiere on a streaming service.
Katims will executive produce and showrun The Way through his production company True Jack Productions, alongside Michelle Lee and Jessica Goldberg who will also executive produce the series.
The Way will go into production this summer and will join our growing slate of original programming, including event series 11/22/63 from Stephen King and J.J. Abrams starring James Franco; comedy series Difficult People produced by Amy Poehler with stars Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner; Casual, a comedy series from Oscar(R) nominated Director Jason Reitman; and the first long-form project from Freddie Wong and the RocketJump team.
Katims has written and produced some of the most compelling dramas and we cannot wait to bring this provocative take on a family in a controversial, dangerous and thrilling world to Hulu.
