LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23, 2015 - The HBO Documentary Films presentation CITIZENFOUR received the Academy Award(R) in the category of Best Documentary Feature, and the HBO Documentary Films presentation CRISIS HOTLINE: VETERANS PRESS 1 received the Academy Award(R) in the category of Best Documentary Short at the 87th annual Academy Awards(R), presented at the 2015 ceremony of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Feb. 22.
CITIZENFOUR is a real-life international thriller that unfolds by the minute, following director Laura Poitras and journalist Glenn Greenwald's remarkable encounters with Edward Snowden in a Hong Kong hotel room as he hands over classified documents that provide evidence of mass indiscriminate and illegal invasions of privacy by the National Security Agency (NSA).
