CRIMINAL MINDS (CBS) - Anna Gunn ("Gracepoint") has joined the cast of the show's proposed spin-off, about FBI agents helping American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad. She will play Ally Lambert, "an international law expert and talented linguist. She's smart, capable and an indispensable part of the team that makes sure bad guys worldwide don't slip through the murky waters of international law." Gary Sinise and Tyler James Williams also star. (Deadline.com)


CUCKOO (NBC/Lionsgate; W: Kieron Quirke, Robin French & Tim Long; D: TBA) - A domestic take on Robin French and Kieron Quirke's U.K. comedy has received a pilot order from the Peacock. Tim Long is supervising the single-camera project, which was previously set up at CBS. Roughcut Television's Ash Atalla will also executive produce. Said effort is detailed as follows: "Based on the British series, a daughter comes back from a summer abroad married to a charming but infuriating eccentric named Cuckoo, much to her father's annoyance."


DETOUR (FOX/20th; W: Steve Franks; D: TBA) - The Steve Franks-penned comedy has received a pilot commitment from the network. The single-camera project is also executive produced by Rivers Cuomo and Dan Field as well as Tagline Pictures' Willie Mercer and Chris Henze. The network's logline is as follows: "Inspired by the real life story of Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo, a rock star who made the unexpected choice at the age of 30 to quit his band and go back to college."


DRIVER, THE (Showtime, New!) - Danny Brocklehurst is looking to import his three-part BBC One thriller mini-series, about "an ordinary man, a taxi driver who - because of family mystery, frustration with his job and his life - makes a terrible decision and starts working for a criminal." Taylor Elmore ("Justified") will co-write the script with David Morrissey attached to reprise the lead role. Timberman-Beverly Productions' Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly; On The Corner's Morrissey and Jolyon Symonds; RED Production Company's Nicola Shindler; and Silver Lining Entertainment's Jeff Golenberg and Matt Goldman are also among the executive producers for CBS Television Studios. FANTASY LIFE (FOX/20th; W: Tim McAuliffe; D: TBA) - The Kevin Connolly-led comedy has scored a pilot order from the network. Michael Rotenberg, Jonathan Berry, Greg Walter, and Troy Zien of 3 Arts Entertainment are also executive producing the multi-camera hybrid alongside McAuliffe, Connolly and Matthew Berry. FOX's logline is as follows: "When a hard-working guy lands his ultimate dream job hosting a fantasy football show, he's forced to navigate office politics while becoming the star he never thought he could be. Based on the best-selling book, "Fantasy Life," by Matthew Berry."


PROBLEM CHILD (NBC/Universal; W: Scot Armstrong; D: TBA) - Scot Armstrong's small screen take on the film franchise has received a pilot order. The single-camera project is also being executive produced by Imagine Television's Brian Grazer and TBD Entertainment's Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan. It's detailed as follows: "Inspired by the film, a family show about the cat-and-mouse game between a set of parents and their brilliant but mischievous child."


AND IN OTHER NEWS... - Michael Cuesta has signed on to helm Rand Ravich's FOX drama pilot "Frankenstein" (Deadline.com); "Marvel's Agent Carter" and "Resurrection" showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters have inked a new two-year overall deal with producer ABC Studios (Deadline.com); Ash Atalla's Roughcut Television has inked a two-year first-look deal with HBO, home to his pilot starring Sarah Silverman (Deadline.com); and David Krumholtz will visit "Mom" as "a 42-year-old college professor who dates Christy's 19-year-old daughter, Violet (Sadie Calvano)" (EW.com).
