CODES OF CONDUCT (HBO; W: Matthew Michael Carnahan & Steve McQueen; D: Steve McQueen) - Helena Bonham Carter and Rebecca Hall have both been cast in the drama pilot, "a provocative exploration of a young black man Beverly Snow's (Devon Terrell) experience entering New York high society." The former will play "author and psychiatrist Esther Kaufmann. Born into a prominent Jewish family in Manhattan, the divorced mother of two grown boys is now living life on her own terms - terms that change dramatically though after she crosses paths with the enigmatic Beverly Snow"; with Hall as "the smart and educated Rebecca Rotmensen, the eldest child of a New York billionaire, who will emerge as Beverly's foremost rival, his equal in guile and ruthlessness." Paul Dano also stars. (Deadline.com)
DAMIEN (Lifetime/FTS; W: Glen Mazzara; D: Shekhar Kapur) - Bradley James ("Merlin") has booked the title role on the upcoming drama, which follows the adult life of Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up, seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. In addition, Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth) has signed on to direct and executive produce the debut installment. Ross Fineman and Pancho Mansfield also executive produce alongside writer Glen Mazzara. QUICK SHOTS OF FALSE HOPE (HBO, New!) - Laura Kightlinger's memoir, subtitled "A Rejection Collection," is being developed as a comedy series at the pay channel. Max Mutchnick ("Partners") is co-writing the half-hour, about "a 1970s-era single mom and her ongoing quest to find a husband, while still sleeping with her daughter's married father," alongside Kightlinger. Warner Bros. Television, home to Mutchnick's Too Mutch Ink, is producing. (Deadline.com)
