FYI ORDERS FOLLOW-UP SERIES FOLLOWING TWO COUPLES WHO REMAINED MARRIED IN "MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT: THE FIRST YEAR"

PRODUCTION BEGINS IMMEDIATELY ON EIGHT ONE-HOUR EPISODES

NEW YORK, NY - September 30, 2014 - FYI has greenlit the new follow-up series, "Married at First Sight: The First Year," it was announced today by Gena McCarthy, Senior Vice President, Programming and Development. The series will follow the two couples who remained married at the end of season one of "Married at First Sight," Jason Carrion and Cortney Hendrix; and Doug Hehner and Jamie Otis, as they embark on life after the experiment. Production begins immediately on eight one-hour episodes slated to premiere in 2015. "Married at First Sight" is the highest rated program ever on the network (FYI or BIO).

In the September 9 season one finale of "Married at First Sight," the three couples had to decide if they were going to stay married or get a divorce. Now, with the experiment over and their decisions revealed, can the two remaining couples make it and celebrate their first anniversary as husband and wife? In "Married at First Sight: The First Year," viewers will follow Jason and Cortney and Doug and Jamie, as they continue their journeys from the six month mark of marriage to their March 2015 one year anniversary. Along the way, the couples will receive advice and guidance from trusted experts.

"'Married at First Sight' has truly captured viewers' attention by bringing viewers in on our subjects' authentic quest for true love," said McCarthy. "It was a natural fit to follow-up with the two married couples post experiment. Viewers will now see them as they embark on one of the most challenging times in married couples' lives - the first year."

The two-hour record-breaking "Married at First Sight: 6 Months Later" special delivered 913,000 total viewers, 526,000 adults 25-54 and 433,000 adults 18-49 on Tuesday, September 16 at 9pm becoming the number one telecast ever on the network (FYI or BIO) with total viewers, adults 25-54. Versus the series premiere on July 8, the special saw a growth of 238% with total viewers, 328% with adults 25-54 and 191% with adults 18-49. Versus the season finale on September 9, the special saw a growth of 1% with total viewers, 6% with adults 25-54 and 10% with adults 18-49.

The season one follow-up special, "Married at First Sight: Unveiled," premieres tonight at 9pm ET. Viewers will see unseen moments from the weddings to the honeymoons, as well as bonus footage of all three couples.

Season two of "Married at First Sight" was previously announced and the search is currently underway for six new singles looking to find their perfect match. More information can be found online at Married at First Sight - Season 2.

"Married at First Sight" is produced for FYI by Kinetic Content. Chris Coelen and Sam Dean are executive producers for Kinetic Content. Executive producers for FYI are Gena McCarthy and Liz Fine.
