FXP SIGNS EMMY(R) AWARD-WINNING "FARGO" PRODUCER JOHN CAMERON TO OVERALL DEAL

CAMERON JOINS PARTNERSHIP WITH FARGO EXECUTIVE PRODUCER/SHOWRUNNER NOAH HAWLEY'S 26 KEYS PRODUCTIONS

LOS ANGELES, September 12, 2014 - FXP (FX Productions) has closed an overall production deal with Fargo Producer John Cameron, it was announced today by Nick Grad and Eric Schrier, Presidents of Original Programming, FX Networks and FX Productions. In addition to his deal with FXP, Cameron is joining forces with Fargo Executive Producer/Showrunner Noah Hawley to become a partner in Hawley's production company 26 Keys.

The two-year agreement between FXP and Cameron covers all projects developed for television, both cable and broadcast. Terms of Cameron's deal with 26 Keys were not disclosed.

"John Cameron was instrumental in the success of Fargo and we look forward to continuing our relationship with him on new projects through FXP and also on the next installment of Fargo," said Grad.

FX ordered a second installment of Fargo in July and the 10-part miniseries will be set in the late-70s in Sioux Falls, S.D. and Luverne, Minn. A premiere date has not been scheduled.

"FXP is an organization fervently committed to creating exceptional television, and I am thrilled to move forward into the future with them," said Cameron. "Noah, of course, is a singular storyteller and astonishing talent. I am honored to partner with him to continue to produce inspired entertainment for the screen."

Fargo captured the Emmy Award for Outstanding Miniseries; Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special (Colin Bucksey); and Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or Special (Rachel Tenner). In its first installment Fargo received 18 Emmy nominations, the second highest total of any program on television this year.

"John has the perfect sensibility for the show and for my taste in general," said Hawley. "In launching a company, it's not enough to just find great projects. You've got to get them made and made right. John's experience in both physical production and material development make him an ideal partner."

Fargo delivered an average weekly viewership of over 6.3 million viewers (inclusive of Live+7 time-shifted data, and viewing on FXNOW, VOD and SVOD).

Prior to Fargo, Cameron worked on Sam Raimi's first feature The Evil Dead, and subsequently worked as his assistant director on Crimewave, Army of Darkness, Darkman and The Quick and the Dead. He has also had a lengthy association with the Coen Brothers, first as assistant director on The Hudsucker Proxy, then as co-producer on the Academy Award(R)-winning film Fargo, as well as The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Man Who Wasn't There, Intolerable Cruelty and The Ladykillers. Cameron went on to produce the box office hit Bad Santa and executive produce Friday Night Lights, The Kingdom and five seasons of the Emmy Award-winning Friday Night Lights television series for NBC. He produced the Academy Award-nominated Lars and the Real Girl and executive produced many other films, including Rushmore, Lakeview Terrace and The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

Cameron is represented by ICM Partners and attorney Melanie Cook of Ziffren Brittenham LLP.

Hawley and 26 Keys are represented by CAA and attorney Joel McKuin of McKuin Frankel Whitehead.

The first installment of Fargo was an adaptation of Joel & Ethan Coen's Academy Award-winning feature film, Fargo, which featured original characters and story. The second installment of will be a wholly original story. Fargo is produced by MGM Television and FX Productions.
