MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, THE (Amazon, New!) - Frank Spotnitz's small screen take on Philip K. Dick's Hugo Award-winning novel - about an alternate history in which the Axis Powers occupy the United States, where fascism rules and the few surviving Jews hide under assumed names - has found a new home at Amazon with a pilot order for a potential series. Originally developed as a four-hour mini-series at Syfy, the project has since added David Semel ("Legends") as a director. Ridley Scott also serves as an executive producer. (Deadline.com)
MEMBERS ONLY (ABC/ABC Studios/CTS; W: David O. Russell & Susannah Grant; D: TBA) - Michael Landes ("Save Me") has joined the cast of the drama, an "Upstairs, Downstairs"-esque soap set at a private country club. He'll play Malcolm, "an athletic, charming, recently-widowed pediatrician and father of two who has mixed feelings about the Club. He and Leslie (Betsy Brandt) become fast friends." Luke Mitchell, Boris Kodjoe, Callie Hernandez and Chris Conroy also star. (Deadline.com)
JUST ADD MAGIC (Amazon, New!) - Joanna Lewis, Kristine Songco and Nancy Cohen have scored a pilot order for a potential comedy about "three 12-year-old girls and best friends, whose lives change when one of them, whose passion is baking, discovers in her attic a strange old recipe book, with recipes for baked goods that also have powerful spells." Joe Nussbaum (Sydney White) is attached to direct with the aforementioned trio presumably executive producing. (Deadline.com)
SEVEN DAYS IN HELL (HBO, New!) - Andy Samberg ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine") and Kit Harington ("Game of Thrones") are set to star in an original comedy movie at the pay channel billed as a mockumentary about superstar bad boy Aaron Williams (Samberg) and prodigy/truck driver Charles Poole (Harington) "fierce tennis rivals in an epic, seven-day match at 2004 Wimbledon" a la John Isner and Nicolas Mahut in 2010. Also starring are Karen Gillan as Lily, "Charles' childhood friend who made a sex tape with Aaron"; Mary Steenburgen as "Charles' psychotic and controlling mother"; and Will Forte as "a tennis historian" with Fred Armisen, Lena Dunham, Howie Mandel, Soledad O'Brien, Michael Sheen and June Squibb in unspecified roles. Jake Szymanski is directing from a script by Murray Miller. Samberg, Miller and David Bernad are the executive producers with Jonathan Buss as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
