VELOCITY'S ALL-NEW SERIES "GARAGE SQUAD" HELPS AMERICA REBUILD AND RESTORE THEIR FAVORITE DREAM CARS
--GARAGE SQUAD World Premieres Friday, August 1 at 9 PM ET/PT--
(Silver Spring, Md.) - Across America thousands of gearheads have tried and failed to rebuild and restore their dream car. Loveable but beat up old autos sit collecting dust in garages because well-meaning owners have run out of the necessary time, money or mechanical knowhow to jump start their cars back to life. Now, Velocity, one of cable's fastest growing brands for men, is lending a helping hand to a lucky few in the all-new series GARAGE SQUAD, world premiering on Friday, August 1 at 9 PM ET/PT.
Hosted by Bruno Massel and Lauren Bohlander, GARAGE SQUAD comes to the rescue of people whose automotive projects have come to a dead end. In each episode, GARAGE SQUAD's highly trained team of mechanics and automotive experts take over a car owner's garage with only one goal in mind - getting his or her stalled project in gear and back on the road.
"Our viewers love any chance to learn from car restoration projects with experienced, respected experts," said Bob Scanlon, General Manager, Velocity. "GARAGE SQUAD features a team of top-notch mechanics, and our hosts Bruno and Lauren have a wealth of knowledge and mechanical chops to put to use. The team is not only saving some amazing cars, but saving marriages that are too often stressed by the old clunker taking up space in the garage."
In the special series premiere episode on Friday, August 1 at 9 PM ET/PT, GARAGE SQUAD tackles two iconic 1960s Fords that have sat in the garage of the Flood Family for decades. The Flood Family patriarch Chris was born in Ireland before coming to the U.S. in the 1960s and being immediately drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. The 1963 Ford Galaxie he owns is a symbol of America that he loves, but it has sat in desperate need of a bumper to bumper overhaul for several years. His son Greg has also struggled with completing the restoration of a 1966 Ford Mustang since smoke billowed from the steering wheel, and the steering wheel came off in his hands while driving it. With two iconic, potentially remarkable cars disassembled and on blocks the GARAGE SQUAD goes to work.
