By The Futon Critic Staff (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The latest development news, culled from recent wire reports:

Looking to keep track of all the various projects in development? Click here to visit our signature "Devwatch" section. There visitors can view our listings by network, genre, studio and even development stage (ordered to pilot, cast-contingent, script, etc.). It's updated every day!

CRISTELA (ABC/20th; W: Cristela Alonzo & Kevin Hench; D: John Pasquin) - Terri Hoyos, Roxana Ortega, Carlos Ponce, Andrew Leeds and Sarah Halford have all joined the cast of the comedy pilot, which stars comedian Cristela Alonzo as a law school student living rent-free with her sister and brother-in-law, hoping to land a prestigious law firm internship as her mother heckles her about getting a real job. Ortega will play her "older, thinner, prettier, more traditional" sister Daniela with Ponce as her husband Felix and Hoyos as her "old world, outspoken, good-hearted" mother Natalia. Leeds then is set as Josh, "Cristela's whip-smart fellow intern and confidant at the law firm who has been coddled by his parents his whole life and can't help but admire Cristela's outlook and resilience"; while Halford will recur as Maddie, "a twentysomething blonde who's a bit naive, spoiled but sweet and not the smartest applicant for the internship - but who got the gig because she's the boss' daughter." (Deadline.com)

HYSTERIA (Amazon; W: Shaun Cassidy; D: TBA) - Mena Suvari ("Chicago Fire") has been tapped for the lead role on the drama pilot, about Dr. Logan Harlow, "an exceptionally bright, driven, complicated, charming but socially awkward neurologist/psychiatrist at the University of Texas Medical School who travels to her hometown of Austin, TX to investigate a mysterious epidemic among high school girls that may be spreading through technology." Alcon Entertainment is also producing. (Deadline.com)

MARRY ME (NBC/Sony; W: David Caspe; D: Seth Gordon) - Dan Bucatinsky ("Scandal") will round out the cast of the comedy pilot, about a young couple - Jake (Ken Marino) and Annie (Casey Wilson) - who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks. He'll play Kevin 2, "the father to Wilson's Annie and the husband to Tim Meadows' Kevin 1." John Gemberling, Sarah Wright and Tymberlee Hill also star. (THR.com)

ODD COUPLE, THE (CBS/CTS; W: Joe Keenan & Matthew Perry; D: TBA) - Lindsay Sloane (Horrible Bosses) has scored a role on the comedy pilot, an updated take on Neil Simon's classic play, about two mismatched roommates, the messy Oscar Madison (Matthew Perry) and the neat freak Felix Unger (Thomas Lennon). She's on board as Lindsay, "the tightly wound, recently divorced sister of Katie (Georgia King)." Sarah Baker and Wendell Pierce also star. (Deadline.com)

STATE OF AFFAIRS (NBC/Universal; W: Alexi Hawley; D: Joe Carnahan) - Alfre Woodard ("Steel Magnolias") is the latest addition to the drama pilot, about Charleston Whitney Tucker (Katherine Heigl), a key CIA attache who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world, all while balancing her intense political responsibilities with a complicated personal life. She'll play the distinguished and energetic President Wheeler in the project, a role originally written as male. Leslie Odom, Jr., Tommy Savas, Cliff Chamberlain, Sheila Vand and Adam Kaufman also star. (Deadline.com)

AND IN OTHER NEWS... - ABC Family has pulled the plug on its drama pilot "Alice in Arabia" over concerns by Muslim advocacy group the Council on American-Islamic Relations (Deadline.com); and "Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have closed a deal to continue with the series for at least two more seasons (EW.com).
