TNT and TBS Bringing "Falling Skies," "Legends," "The Last Ship" and "The Pete Holmes Show" to SXSW

Panels include The New Golden Age of Drama on TV and The Pete Holmes Show Makes It Weird, Plus Sneak Preview Watch Party of The Last Ship's First Episode

TNT and TBS are heading to SXSW, and they're bringing with them stars and producers of such series as TNT's Falling Skies and new dramas The Last Ship and Legends, as well as TBS's late-night series The Pete Holmes Show. On Monday, March 10, the networks will stage two panels during the annual music, film and interactive conference and festival held in Austin, Texas. That night, TNT will hold a special First Look Watch Party for The Last Ship, giving SXSW attendees the opportunity to catch the entire first episode of the action-packed series from executive producer Michael Bay (Transformers). Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), Rhona Mitra (Strike Back) and Adam Baldwin (Chuck, Firefly) are scheduled to appear at the Watch Party.

TBS will kick off the panel presentations with The Pete Holmes Show Makes It Weird at 3:30 p.m. Host Pete Holmes will be joined by producers Nick Bernstein and Oren Brimer and head writer Karen Kilgariff for a panel discussion on what it takes to create a late-night series. At 5 p.m., TNT will present The New Golden Age of Drama on TV, a discussion about the resurgence in quality television dramas, with executive producers behind the network's hit series Falling Skies and the upcoming series The Last Ship and Legends. Both panels will feature extensive video clips from the shows.

The following is a complete rundown of TBS and TNT's events during SXSW.

The Pete Holmes Show Makes it Weird Panelists: Pete Holmes, host Nick Bernstein, executive producer Oren Brimer, co-executive producer Karen Kilgariff, head writer Time: 3:30-4:30 p.m. Location: The Austin Convention Center, Room 18ABCD

Stand-up comic, cartoonist, writer, podcaster and SXSW favorite Pete Holmes has recently taken on another new role: host of The Pete Holmes Show. Head writer Karen Kilgariff and producers Nick Bernstein and Oren Brimer will join Pete to discuss how their love of sketch, stand-up and offbeat interviews informs the shape of their late-night show.

Viewers are finding a whole new world of drama on TV that was once only found in big screen movies. With top-name producers and studios now creating projects for television, this panel of the entertainment industry's leaders from the action-adventure world will discuss how/why that has happened. Fans will have an opportunity to enjoy exclusive clips of upcoming blockbuster series and learn what it takes to pull off a tale of world domination from outside forces and develop storylines for mysterious characters within a 60-minute episode. SXSW attendees will have the first chance to catch this action-packed drama when TNT presents a Watch Party featuring the entire first episode. Starring Eric Dane and executive-produced by blockbuster filmmaker Michael Bay, The Last Ship opens with a global catastrophe that nearly decimates the world's population. Because of its positioning, the Navy destroyer U.S.S. Nathan James avoids falling victim to the devastating tragedy. But now, Captain Tom Chandler (Dane) and his crew must confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they may be among the few remaining survivors.
