CRACKLE ANNOUNCES SEASON TWO OF ORIGNAL SERIES "CLEANERS"
"Cleaners" Returns with 12 All-new Episodes
Pasadena, Calif. (January 12, 2014) - Crackle, the multi-platform entertainment network, today announced production to start this week in Puerto Rico on the second season of its original series, 'Cleaners.'
Following the first action packed season, Emmanuelle Chriqui ("Entourage"), Emily Osment ("Hannah Montana"), David Arquette (SCREAM), and Gina Gershon ("Rescue Me," FACE/OFF) return for a second season and double the punch with 12, half-hour episodes premiering on Crackle and across all Crackle applications in 2014.
The first season followed two gorgeous young women (Emmanuelle Chriqui, Emily Osment) who turn out to be a team of highly trained and lethal contract killers. While on an errand for their boss (Gershon), the job goes bad and the duo quickly find themselves as the target of their boss' client, the FBI (Arquette) - and even their own boss - whose team of assassins is now out to eliminate them. Season 2 opens on a Caribbean island two weeks after the end of season one. Veronica (Chriqui) and Roxie (Osment) realize they have not escaped their past just yet... The female assassins find themselves trying to take down a major drug cartel and are entangled in the trappings of Mother (Gershon), who is trying to hunt them down. All the while, Agent Barnes (Arquette) is on a mission to take down Mother.
New characters played by Esai Morales as Father Brooks, Omar Avila as Carlos, and David Rees Snell as Phillips, John Savage as Marcus Walker and Mimi Rogers as Isabelle Walker, add more twists to the thrilling plot for an all-new 12 episodes uncovering secrets, lies and ulterior motives.
The second season, written and directed by Paul Leyden (THE FACTORY), brings back executive producers Sam Worthington (AVATAR, CLASH OF THE TITANS), Emmanuelle Chriqui, John Schwarz ("McLeod's Daughters"), Michael Schwarz (OLIVER TWIST) and Luca Scalisi (TAILCHASER'S SONG, EMINEM: LIVE FROM NEW YORK CITY).
"Cleaners" is yet another addition to Crackle's acclaimed portfolio of original, award-winning content that includes the hugely successful suspense thriller "Chosen" starring Milo Ventimiglia, long-form anthology series "The Unknown" created by Chris Collins and starring Dominic Monaghan, and the Webby and Telly-Award winning series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" from Jerry Seinfeld and "From the Basement," the hit music series from Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.
