"THE DUKES OF HAZZARD" RETURNS TO TV FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HD, KICKING OFF WITH AN EIGHT-HOUR MARATHON BEGINNING SUNDAY, JANUARY 5 ON CMT
NASHVILLE - December 26, 2013 - THE DUKES OF HAZZARD returns to CMT in HD, kicking off with an eight-hour marathon of one of the nation's most-loved series on Sunday, January 5 beginning at 2:00 p.m. ET. The new high-definition episodes will air for the first time on cable, 35 years after the launch of the series in January 1979. The DUKES OF HAZZARD will begin its regular weekday schedule on Monday, January 6 with timeslots at Noon and again at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT, on CMT.
The unmistakable voice of music legend Waylon Jennings introduced America, in both theme song and show narration, to Bo, Luke and Daisy Duke, and a new pop culture phenomenon exploded onto TV sets across the nation. THE DUKES OF HAZZARD made short-shorts, fast cars and CB radios cool as the series became a mainstay in homes and hearts for seven successful seasons. Cousins Bo, Luke and Daisy Duke, along with their Uncle Jesse, fought the corrupt political system in Hazzard County. CMT first brought the series to cable in 2005.
